The €2 million jackpot winner didn’t want to take any chances before collecting the money, even going so far as to sleep with the lucky ticket for several days to keep an eye on it keep.
“He slept with me every night and followed me to the premises of the Française des Jeux every day,” said the winner, as reported by the website Tirage Gagnant last Wednesday.
The Frenchman, from Seine-et-Marne, west of Paris, won the sum of 2 million euros – the equivalent of almost 2.9 million Canadian dollars – last Wednesday after believing in the chance to pick the winning combination.
“On the night of the draw, I took my digital tablet with me to check the results. When I saw that the winning combination was the same as on my receipt, I couldn’t believe it. So much so that I turned my touchpad off and on again several times a night to confirm the numbers,” confided the new millionaire.
With his new win, he plans to move to a quieter area in France.
