A woman’s ex-spouse was arrested after attacking her new love with a knife in Lévis on Monday evening.
The event occurred around 7:30 p.m. on the Route des Rivières in the Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon area.
A 33-year-old Lévis man then allegedly attempted to attack the victim, another man in his 40s, with a bladed weapon.
According to the Lévis City Police Department (SPVL), the attacker is the former boyfriend of the victim’s spouse.
“Fortunately there were no injuries in this story, but the suspect fled after being arrested,” said Véronique Blouin, spokeswoman for the Lévis City Police Department (SPVL).
He was found by patrol officers a few hours later and was scheduled to appear at the Quebec courthouse on Tuesday afternoon.
He faces charges of assault, burglary and drug possession.
“The case is not yet closed. Therefore, there could be new allegations,” explains Ms. Blouin.
