The only tangible evidence we have for the existence of astrology and its predictions about the future is the moon. We know it as our satellite, which according to various theories was formed by the collision of a protoplanet with the earth. It is associated with tides and other aspects such as menstruation or the birth of children and even hair. And if we delve into this pseudoscience, we can say that it is about governing our emotions. Also the intuition, the subconscious and the right side of the brain. The moon sign is one of the most important points in our natal chart, that map of the sky that shows your personality, as it gives clues to a very important part of you: the way you live your feelings.
However, it is important to note that this powerful energy of the moon is not constant. It mainly depends on what phase of the cycle you are in. This is the path it takes from the moment it appears in the sky until it disappears again. It lasts 28 days and is divided into two phases: waxing and waning. The waxing phase corresponds to the enlargement of the moon from the entirely new phase to the third day of the full moon, when the full moon is reached. From this moment until the arrival of the fully clear moon we are in a waning phase. While the first part encourages development and beginnings, the second part is more about completions and maturation.
We can in turn divide the lunar cycle into eight phases: 1) new, 2) increasing, 3) first quarter, 4) increasing hump, 5) full, 6) decreasing hump, 7) last quarter, 8) decreasing.
Another aspect to consider are the eclipses that will occur in 2023. Solar eclipses occur at new moon while lunar eclipses occur at full moon. These moments must be seen as “opportunities for change, initiation and/or recovery as they signal the end of one cycle and the beginning of another”. In addition, this year they are also appearing on the Taurus-Scorpio axis: «It brings with it a fixed energy that requires stability, but also consistency, effort and sacrifice. At the same time, it can lead to a tendency towards stubbornness or stagnation in the process and steer you towards independence». The dates of the solar eclipses that must be entered in the diary are:
- 20th of April. Solar Eclipse with New Moon in Aries;
- 5th of May. Lunar Eclipse with Full Moon in Scorpio;
- October 14th. solar eclipse with new moon in Libra;
- 28th of October. Lunar Eclipse with Full Moon in Taurus.
What can you do with all this information? Use the moon and the energies of each phase to organize your week, month or even year.
