Macron’s watch, Conte’s and Putin’s parka: the other luxury items that “unmask” politicians’ lifestyles

Last in chronological order was Emmanuel Macron’s watch. The French President, speaking to his fellow citizens on live television about minimum wages, made the gesture of taking off his watch in front of the cameras. A detail that did not go unnoticed: the dispute over the curtain began immediately on Twitter. Above all, the negative comments drove up the calculated costs of the watch about two thousand euros (it would be personalized with the insignia of the Presidency of the Republic). It is not the first time that an object shown by a politician has become a coincidence. Often these are actually luxury (or ultra-luxury) goods, showing the wearer’s wealth and therefore “distance” from the lifestyle of the voters. Here are other examples, both from Italy and from abroad.
