Madonna, two fans are suing her for the more than two hour delay in the start of the concert

Madonna's delays in concerts are now well known: Even in Milan last November, one of her shows started more than two hours late and a certain dissatisfaction spread among the audience. However, two American fans don't want to let him go unscathed and have sued the organization for “misleading advertising” in connection with the three dates in December in New York.

Instead of starting at 8:30 p.m. as advertised, the concerts actually started after 10:30 p.m. and ended after 1 a.m.: the two fans claim that they “wouldn't have bought the tickets” if they had known they would end so late, and therefore decided to take legal action against Live Nation, the event organizer, and the Bercley Center, the venue, for “misleading advertising, negligent representation and unfair and deceptive sales practices”.

Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden argue that “many ticket holders who attend weekday concerts have to wake up early to go to work and/or attend to family obligations the next day.” They add that the organization in did not disclose in any way that the concerts would begin “much later than stated and advertised on the ticket,” despite Madonna having a “long history of tour delays.”

In 2019, another fan actually sued her for the same reason, again in the US, but then voluntarily withdrew the lawsuit. That year, the pop star posted a clip of a concert on social media in which he told the audience, “One thing you have to understand,” and that is that a queen is never late.
