A 47yearold man was admitted to the emergency room at the Medical College of Nepal Teaching Hospital after having a glass cup inserted in his anus for three days. According to an article published in the Journal of Nepal Medical, the unidentified patient initially denied the targeted insertion, but later admitted to using the cup “for the purpose of masturbation while intoxicated.”
According to the article, he hadn’t had a bowel movement in two days. The man tried to remove the glass himself, but to no avail. “There were no comorbidities and the patient had no psychiatric history. The patient’s mood, behavioral patterns, and insight were normal at the time of the examination.
He had to undergo treatments and surgeries. An attempt was made to manually remove the cup through the anus, but with no result. After analysis, the experts decided to remove the cup through an operation with an incision in the intestine.
According to the article, the postoperative period was uneventful. On the third day, the man began a liquid diet. “The drain was removed on the sixth postoperative day and the patient was discharged on the seventh postoperative day. With regular followup, he is doing well two months postop and still has good anal tone.”
