Will Maria De Filippi leave television? A little over a month after the death of her husband Maurizio Costanzo, her colleagues are urging her not to give up. It is one of the most famous faces of Mediaset Ezio Greggio: The presenter wrote a letter to the “queen” of Italian television to underline the affection and solidarity of all his colleagues.
What is in the letter
“Dear Maria, Roberto Alessi and his newspaper Novella 2000 have asked me to write you a letter interpreting the feelings of all of us, your colleagues and friends, at this sad and difficult moment in your life,” begins the presenter of Striscia la Notia . «I imagine the emptiness that has suddenly appeared in your days. Because it upsets you to know that a fundamental person you hold in your heart and respect is suddenly gone,” the open letter to the moderator said.
«Even if we haven’t seen each other for a long time, dear Maria, I felt your moment of discouragement from afar. I’ve read here and there about your desire to drop everything, to stop your work. I hope it was just a moment of confusion. I’m telling you on behalf of many of your friends that you must move on, you must move on. You owe it to an endless audience that follows you you owe it to the hundreds of talents waiting for the opportunity you give them on your stage to show up and make their dreams come true”.
“I saw you back on the air after the dutiful and respectful hiatus on television and I read in your eyes the melancholy that emanates from such a great loss,” writes Ezio Greggio. Hoping to elicit a smile from her, the conductor shares a series of Costanzo memories that will stay alive: «Like when Enzo and I (Iacchetti, ed) came to me You have maildisguised as cowards, and often, as soon as he knew about it, Maurizio would come on the show, stand on the other side of the envelope to mess with us, who would say we were his girlfriends…».
The return to television by Maria De Filippi
The presenter resumed her engagements a week after Maurizio Costanzo’s death on February 24. «I’m starting to work again because they taught me how to do it‘ said Maria. C’è posta per te was back on the air in prime time on Saturday March 4, with the episode suspended last week due to grief and starring Tiziano Ferro and Carmine Recano, Giacomo Giorgio and Kyshan Wilson, faces of the cult series ‘Mare fuori . Sunday, March 5th, it was the turn of Amici in view of the evening. From Monday, March 6th, it was the turn of men and women.
