Former short track speed skater and three-time Olympic champion Marianne St-Gelais is pregnant.
Her partner Raphaël Maheux announced this on his Instagram account on Saturday afternoon, stating that the expected due date is May 2024.
Marianne St-Gelais, in turn, shared her lover’s publication in a “Story” on Instagram.
This is the first pregnancy for the speed skater, who won three Olympic silver medals and one gold medal at the World Championships in her career from 2003 to 2018.
Since retiring from competition, the 33-year-old, originally from Saint-Félicien in Lac-Saint-Jean, has worked primarily as a coach and has made several appearances in the Quebec media.
She also participated in the first season of the popular show “Sortez-moi d’ici,” which aired on TVA last spring.
