A scene straight out of The Wizard of Oz is playing out in the Great White North – a huge tornado sweeping through a hilly landscape… on a national holiday.
Footage circulated on Saturday showing a massive cyclone moving along Didsbury, Alberta — where the storm is chasing Aaron Jayjack spent the morning documenting the natural disaster… and posting stunning close-ups of the tornado.
As he states in his story, the tornado is absolutely massive and sweeps with it everything that gets in its way. He even gets some good shots of how high it goes… and his height is pretty staggering too.
Jayjack says the tornado hit homes and other pieces of property — apparently including farms — as it moved along… and as he mentions in his clip, debris and debris are flying everywhere. The Tornado is also incredibly thick… not to mention width. It’s reportedly been estimated to be about a mile in diameter – so the thing is obviously deadly.
The local Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they had received reports of extensive damage and some casualties… but no details on how many people were injured or killed.
Worst of all… this tornado made landfall on Canada Day – the day Canada became a united nation in 1867. Prime Minister Trudeau doesn’t seem to have commented on the tornado yet.
