McDavid on the floor?

Concern in Edmonton: Oilers captain and big star Connor McDavid was unable to finish the team’s game Saturday night in a 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

It appears the 26-year-old figure skater did not play in the final four minutes of the third period and was not seen on the ice in overtime.

Minutes earlier, the striker appeared to feel pain on the left side of his body during an attack before returning to the bench (Watch the sequence in the main video).

“I haven’t returned to the locker room yet, but I’m sure we’ll have information tomorrow (Sunday),” Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft said after the game.

“It didn’t seem like much, it seemed more muscular than anything else based on what I saw on the footage,” he added. We will see. I will have more information tomorrow.”

McDavid, who still collected two assists in this encounter, had played 20:48 of the game up to that point.

The Oilers clearly had enough of him in overtime, as it was the Jets who escaped with the win thanks to a goal from Mark Scheifele.
