That’s why they’ve integrated AI-driven co-pilots into their most used and popular products: GitHub makes coding more efficient, Microsoft 365 transforms workplace productivity, Bing and Edge redefine search, and by providing contextual value, Apps that work in all areas and on your Windows PC.
Today we’re taking the next step by combining these capabilities into a single experience we call Microsoft Copilot, your everyday AI companion. Copilot uniquely integrates the context and intelligence of the web, your work data, and what you’re doing on your PC to provide better support – with your privacy and security at the forefront. It will be a simple and seamless experience, available in Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and on our web browser with Edge and Bing. It works as an app or shows up when needed with a simple right click. We will continue to integrate Copilot features and connections into our most used apps over time to deliver on our vision of a unique experience that works for a lifetime. Copilot will be rolled out in its initial form starting September 26 as part of the free Windows 11 update and in Bing, Edge and Microsoft 365 Copilot in the fall. Microsoft is also announcing new experiences and devices to help you be more productive, inspire your creativity, and meet the everyday needs of people and businesses.
- With more than 150 new features, the next Windows 11 update is one of the most ambitious yet. It brings the power of Copilot and new AI-powered experiences for apps like Paint, Photos, Clipchamp and more directly to your Windows PC.
- Bing will support OpenAI’s latest DALL.E 3 model, providing more personalized answers based on your search history, a new AI-powered shopping experience, and updates to Bing Chat Enterprise, making it more mobile and visual.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available for businesses starting November 1, 2023, along with Microsoft 365 Chat, a new artificial intelligence assistant that will completely transform the way you work.
The new Windows 11 update brings more than 150 new features, including the performance of Copilot on PC.
- Copilot on Windows (Preview) allows you to create faster, complete tasks more easily, and reduce your cognitive load, making previously complicated tasks easier. Microsoft has made access to the power of Copilot seamless, with it always available to you, in the taskbar or with the Win+C keyboard shortcut, and provides support for all your apps on all platforms and screen sizes, at work school or at home.
- Pictures has also been improved with artificial intelligence and new features that make editing your photos easier. Background Blur is a quick and easy way to highlight the subject of your photo. The Photos app automatically detects the background of the photo and instantly highlights the subject and blurs the background with a single click. We’ve improved search: With photos stored in OneDrive accounts (personal or private), you can now quickly find the photo you’re looking for based on its content. You can also find photos based on where they were taken.
- Modernization of theFile manager : We’re introducing a modernized version of File Explorer’s home page, address bar, and search box to help you more easily access important and relevant content, keep you updated on file activity, and collaborate without opening a file must. File Explorer also adds a new Gallery feature designed to make your photo collection easier to access.
- Gracefulness Windows BackupIt’s easier than ever to upgrade to a new PC with Windows 11. With Windows Backup, transferring most files, apps and settings from one PC to another is seamless, so everything is there exactly as you left it, the way you want it.
These experiences, including Copilot in Windows and others, will be available starting September 26 as part of the latest Windows 11 update, version 22H2.
Transform work with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Bing Chat Enterprise and Windows
In March, we showed you what Microsoft 365 Copilot can do in the apps that millions of people use every day at work and in life—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams—just by using your own words. After months of learning with customers like Visa, General Motors, KPMG, and Lumen Technologies, we’re excited to announce that Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available to businesses starting November 1st.
To help you work more efficiently, Microsoft has also introduced new features for Copilot in Outlook, Word, Excel, Loop, OneNote and OneDrive. Bing Chat Enterprise (the first entry point into generative AI for many companies) is getting some updates.
