Milei offers Zelensky the UkraineLatin America summit in Argentina

The Presidentelect of Argentina, Javier Milei, this Wednesday, the 22nd, offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to organize a summit between Ukraine and Latin American countries in Argentina.

Milei, who will take office on December 10, made the suggestion to Zelensky in a telephone conversation, the future president’s office reported in its daily activity bulletin, without providing further details.

Shortly before, Milei received a call from United States President Joe Biden “who congratulated him on his recent election victory” and with whom he “agreed on the importance of strengthening bilateral relations,” the statement said.

The presidentelect expressed appreciation to Biden for his management of the release of hostages kidnapped by the “terror group” Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

During the election campaign, Milei named the United States and Israel as priority allies of his future government.

Throughout the day, the Argentine ultraright leader also spoke on the phone with newly appointed British Chancellor David Cameron.

The statement also did not provide any information about the content of the conversation with Cameron. Argentina has a sovereignty dispute with the United Kingdom over the Falkland Islands, which led to war between the two countries in 1982.

Milei concluded his round of outreach to international leaders with a conversation with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, with whom he discussed “the importance of economic growth in the region.”

Boluarte expressed to Milei his intention to attend his inauguration ceremony on December 10.
