False shooter warning 11 year old boy arrested by police

Minneapolis: Convenience store employee dies after being impaled with a golf club

A convenience store clerk in Minneapolis, Minnesota, met a tragic end Friday afternoon after he was attacked and impaled with a golf club by a customer.

The 66-year-old man was sitting behind the counter at the Oak Grove grocery store when he became the target of this tragedy, the New York Daily News reported.

Police arrived at the scene around 1 p.m. and found the victim “with a golf club impaled in his torso.” The sixty-year-old was quickly taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

“As it appears [le suspect] went behind the counter and began attacking and beating the person behind the counter in a very grotesque manner,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara told media.

According to witness statements, the 44-year-old suspect broke into a building across the street, the police chief added.

He barricaded himself for almost six hours before agreeing to turn himself in to authorities. After his arrest he was charged with murder.

The victim, a former professional dancer, was known in the neighborhood as a “dedicated volunteer,” said Jana Metge, director of the nonprofit organization Citizens for a Loring Park Community.

He was “a shining light in the neighborhood,” she said, according to American media.
