Monday, January 1st

9:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. GMT)

The Commission for the Affairs of Detainees and Ex-Detainees said a Palestinian prisoner was killed in Israeli prisons, WAFA news agency reported.

The Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners' Association reported that the Israeli prison services murdered 23-year-old Abdul Rahman Bassem Al-Bahsh from Nablus.

The Palestine Today platform condemned new Israeli bombings against Gaza, Syria and southern Lebanon.

WAFA news agency reported that Israeli forces demolished two agricultural and industrial buildings and a wall on land in the village of Nabi Elias, east of Qalqilya in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry hopes that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair “will not be involved in this crime, which is part of the Israeli government's plan to increase genocide and forced displacement among Palestinians.”

On Sunday, an Israeli news channel reported that Blair would be the point of contact in finding European countries that could accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza.

The Ministry of Health reported that the total number of Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza since October 7, 2023 rose to 21,978, with 57,697 people injured.

In the last 24 hours alone, at least 156 people were killed and another 246 injured in 13 Israeli strikes, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said at a news conference.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that as the world celebrates the New Year, the streets of the Gaza Strip are filled with thousands of people sleeping rough.

The agency's press director, Juliet Touma, wrote on her account on the social network “October 7th last year”.

He stated that “the number of displaced people housed in the agency’s facilities has reached 1.4 million Palestinians.”

At least 21 people were killed and dozens injured in the Israeli bombing of several areas in the Gaza Strip. In the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, 15 people were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli bombardment of civilian homes.

Six people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on several houses in the Beer al-Naja area, west of Jabalia.
