It’s an unbelievable story. After his disappearance on September 28, 2019, an 18-year-old autistic young man was found 1,200 km from his childhood home in the United States. He will have spent two and a half years away from home before finally being located and identified by Summit County (Utah) police officers, reports NBC News.
Despite a search launched in Clearlake, California immediately after his disappearance, authorities had never found any trace of the then 16-year-old teenager. Until the local Summit County Police Department tried to help a teenager who was sleeping outside in extremely cold temperatures.

It is a truly wondrous discovery
But he always refused the help of the agents and never wanted to deny his identity. Finally, on April 9, a motorist again reported the presence of this frozen young man near a gas station. The police offered him a warm-up in their car and they were then able to take his fingerprints.
Officers discovered a poster of the young man in the National Center for Missing Children’s database, leading them to contact Clearlake Police and the teenager’s parents, who immediately rushed to locate their son. “It’s beyond anything we can imagine. It is a truly wondrous find,” said Lt. Andrew Wright of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. What the young man did during these two years is not known for the time being.
