Hernán Losada’s team conceded two quick goals in the 30th and 33rd minutes. Ahmed Hamdi reduced the score to 2-1 five minutes before half-time. The latter scored a beautiful goal on the edge of the penalty area after an offer from Lassi Lappalainen. The Egyptian midfielder’s cross shot landed in the side netting of goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The local favorite added two goals in the second half. Georgios Giakoumakis took advantage of a defensive error at Le Bleu-Blanc-Noir to make it 3-1. Edwin Mosquera tied the game for Atlanta with a goal in the 89th minute.

CF Montreal was outclassed in the vast majority of statistics. The Georgia-based club had the ball 64% of the time. The Montreal team allowed 17 shots, 8 of which were on goal.

Montreal will travel to Florida next week to face Orlando City. This loss still leaves the club in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with 37 points.
