Goalkeeper Samuel Montembeault is the recipient of the Molson Cup for the month of January, the Canadian confirmed on Monday.
The Quebecer succeeded another of the Montreal club's goalkeepers, Jake Allen, who received the award in December. In seven games, he posted a 3.50 goals average and .909 efficiency percentage, in addition to a 4-2-1 record.

During that time he was named the game's first star three times, on January 2 at Dallas, four days later against the New York Rangers, and on January 13 against the Edmonton Oilers.
In 23 games this season, the Bécancour native has won 11 duels, a record among the Habs' masked men. He also performs better than his two teammates Allen and Cayden Primeau in terms of average goals allowed (3.10) and percentage (0.905).
At the start of the campaign, Montembeault signed a three-year contract extension worth $9.45 million.
