Nearly twoton alligator caught by hunters in US Itatiaia

A group of four hunters from Yazoo City, Mississippi, in the United States, have caught an alligator that weighed almost two tons and was over 4 meters long. According to the site, this represents a record in the state for the animal’s size and weight.

The men located the alligator in a city river and the action lasted about seven hours. About ten hooks were used to contain it and several lines snapped by the beast’s power. At one point, the group managed to put a gallows around his neck and fired to kill him.

According to information from local portals, alligator hunting in the state of Mississippi is controlled by the government, which authorizes a certain number of alligator hunts per year and obtains licenses authorizing hunters interested in pursuing this activity.

About 150 kilos of the animal meat are delivered to public canteens for poor people. In addition, the skin is divided between the four men and the head is cut off to use as a “trophy”.
