Neighbors star Melissa Bell tied the knot with longtime partner Grant Thompson in an emotional ceremony on the Gold Coast last month.
The actress told New Idea she fought back tears as the couple tied the knot at the Rotary Broadwater Chapel by The Sea, just days before Melissa celebrated her 50th birthday.
Meanwhile, her 60-year-old groom kept a special supply of tissues on hand just in case.

“Mel just looked amazing,” the financial strategist told the magazine.
In homage to her days with the beloved soap, Melissa walked down the aisle in a fabulous couture gown that she once wore on the show.
The stunning all-white wedding dress was featured at the fan-favorite’s on-screen wedding in 2020 when her character Lucy Robinson married Mark Gottlieb, played by actor Bruce Samazan.
Melissa got her big break on Neighbors in 1991 playing Robinson and has played the role on and off ever since.
Melissa told New Idea that the dress, which features a beautiful floral motif, was a generous gift from the Neighbors team.

“At the end of filming, they gave it to me,” she said, “and I was like, ‘Wow, part of Australian television history!’
“It’s very exaggerated, but I think I am.”
Melissa previously told New Idea that she was “not looking for love” when Grant came into her life following the death of her husband Gary Dickinson in 2016.

The former E Street star announced her engagement to financial strategist Grant in 2020.
She said she met Grant after going down a “road of self-discovery” following the death of her husband.
Gary fell into a coma after suffering a heart attack in late 2015 before dying in February the following year.
The couple shared three children together. She also has another son from a previous marriage.
She added that Gary would be happy if she got on with her life.
