François Bouchard, Cassandra Major and Jean-Philippe Lamontagne, three people accused of indignity to a corpse, appeared remotely at the Quebec courthouse on Friday. Because additional charges could be added, prosecutors are requesting an additional week for the release hearing.
The police investigation is lengthy and complex, he explains. The public prosecutor’s office therefore requests that their appearance be postponed to Friday, September 29th. Defense attorneys did not object and the judge granted the request.
Her accusation is related to the body found on Sunday in Quebec, very close to the city limits of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, at a company specializing in arboriculture, pruning and felling. The suspects were arrested in Kahnawake on Sunday evening.

A crime scene was also identified in Contrecoeur in Montérégie.

When the defendants appeared before the judge for the first time on Monday, their release investigation had already been postponed to Friday at the request of the public prosecutor.
In the meantime, the defendants remain prohibited from communicating with Samuel Gauvin, the owner of the business where the body was found.
