New Year's Day travel nightmare: Pro-Palestinian mob attacks streets around JFK airport, causing gridlock for unfortunate passengers leaving New York

A pro-Palestinian mob created a New Year's Eve nightmare when it blocked JFK airport and surrounding streets, causing gridlock for travelers.

The protest was organized by the pro-Palestinian group WOL as it directed participants to flood JFK Terminal 4 on Monday.

Only passengers with boarding passes and employees with valid IDs are allowed to board the JFK Air Train at Jamacia Station.

Cars can be seen driving on the highway leading to the airport as protesters chant, “NYD KKK, IDF, you are all the same.”

Traffic near the airport leading to the passenger terminals near I-678 South and Exit C is blocked.

“If anyone is flying out of JFK Airport today, please plan travel to the airport in advance.” Protests are planned for today, which will cause delays. We don't want anyone to miss their flight! Have a safe trip and a happy new year,” the NYPD traffic chief said in a post on X.

Palestinian flags hang on many cars and there are signs on the back of the vehicles. Some protesters brought traffic to a standstill and also got out of their cars to protest.

NYPD officers are on the move trying to intervene as traffic slowly moves toward the airport.

This protest came after another mob set off smoke bombs at a Macy's store in New York City, marched through the Big Apple and was prevented from throwing balls in Times Square.

The group made its way through the city on New Year's Eve after Mayor Eric Adams said he had prepared the NYPD to increase security ahead of the celebrations in Times Square.

At Macy's in Herald Square, at least one protester set off a bright red smoke bomb and were allowed to take a tour of the famous department store before escorting it.

At least one group was spotted marching from 59th Street to 45th and 5th Avenue, just a block from where the ball will drop at midnight.

A police spokesman told on Sunday that there had been no protest-related arrests when we contacted the NYPD late Sunday evening

Many cities implemented additional security measures, and some places canceled New Year's Eve events entirely, prompting marches to take place across the country.

In New Jersey, a 180-car caravan themed “Wheels of Palestine” traveled from Paterson to Teaneck, which Haaretz declared in 2018 the “most Jewish city in New Jersey.”
