Neymar Junior is again in the eye of the storm due to non-football issues. While recovering from his injury and enjoying his vacation before starting a new season with the Paris St Germain (PSG), the “10” of the Canarinha, was hit with a new fine this weekend by Rio de Janeiro’s environmental authorities for building an artificial lake in one of its villas.
According to international media, the Brazilian was visited by inspectors for the second time and they noted “movements in the prohibited zone”, indicating “embargo violations and new environmental violations”.
They also reported that the figure of PSG violated the sanction last Friday by hosting a party to inaugurate the lake in question. Even pictures of Neymar taking a bath together with several guests posing next to the posters prohibiting the still unfinished work have been circulated on social networks.

When did Neymar stop work on his mansion?
Mundo Deportivo reported that the evidence, which was confirmed by inspectors from the Mangaritiba Environment Secretariat, was included in the investigation process.
It should be noted that the works that were being carried out at Neymar’s villa were halted on Thursday 22nd, the day on which the authorities discovered a series of irregularities in it, such as: Examples include diverting the course of a river and collecting water from a river without proper permits, prohibited excavations, erratic movement of rocks and soil, and the use of beach sand.

The amount Neymar Junior will have to pay is still unknown but under Brazilian law it would be around $1,000,000.
