On Monday, the NFL Network learned that the salary cap will be increased from $208.2 million to $224.8 million. This is the second straight raise after the Goodell Circuit limited its teams’ ability to pay out in 2021 due to COVID-19. This year, the limit was $182.5 million.
In the NFL, the salary cap is negotiated in partnership with the Players Association and is based on the league’s projected earnings.
Recently, the circuit has made sure to get a lot more money by signing new broadcast rights deals and splitting up sports betting revenue. Additionally, the NFL added a 17th game to its regular season.
