During the 15th edition of Buy Tourism Onlife (BTO), the European country’s most important international event aimed at creating networks of digital tourism operators and companies, the head of the Department of Tourism Development of the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute (Intur), Mara Stotti, highlighted the achievements the industry.
The Intur official addressed conservation initiatives to promote local culture and highlighted the strategies, practices and successful examples that show the possibility of combining tourism with environmental conservation.
“The Government of Nicaragua promotes the development of sustainable, responsible, inclusive and accessible tourism for all, for the benefit of local communities, and values and respects the natural wealth and cultural identity of our people,” he emphasized.
Founded in 2008, BTO aims to offer tour operators a key to understanding how the internet and digitalization have radically changed the way holidaymakers approach travel.
This new edition of the event, which ends tomorrow, aims, among other things, to publicize the new technological trends in the travel sector, divided into four themes: Destination, Digital Strategy, Food and Wine Tourism and Hospitality.
Additionally, the event provided a unique platform to interact with tourism industry professionals, exchange ideas and learn about the latest trends in the industry.
