Nicaragua took part in the session of the Central American Monetary Council

At the meeting, which took place over two days in this capital, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nicaragua (BCN), Ovidio Reyes, emphasized the exchange of information and economic analysis at the highest level.

The head of the BCN added that in this way it contributes to the knowledge of experiences in order to strengthen the monetary policy framework in favor of the well-being of the countries and the people.

The note states that as part of the work agenda, the central bank authorities analyzed the regional macroeconomic context and the 2023 outlook for Central America and the Dominican Republic.

It also covered various administrative matters related to the operation of the CMCA Executive Secretariat, including the swearing-in of the new authorities for the 2023-2027 period.

The meeting was attended by bank representatives from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and the host country.

Also attending was the International Monetary Fund’s regional resident representative for Central America, Panama and the Dominican Republic, Metodij Hadzi-Vaskov.
