Kevin Bieksa had a lot to say about Nick Cousins on Saturday night.
The former defenseman, now an analyst on Hockey Night in Canada, called Cousins a “rat” in an on-air tirade during a break on Sportsnet.
Bieksa criticized him for deliberately endangering the health of his opponents.
“People don't want to see knee-to-knee blows, players getting their heads hit against the boards or thrown in the back. “But it's a recurring theme for Cousins,” he said.
“I have never done this before but I have to do it because it is a strong tendency with this player. I’m sorry, but for me he’s a rat,” Bieksa added.
The latter wants someone to solve Cousins' case, as he always runs away instead of answering for his actions, thereby breaking, in his opinion, the famous “code”.
“There is no place for such a step. What does everything he does have in common? He is in a turtle position at the bottom of the stack. Someone in the organization needs to sit him down and say, “Enough is enough!”, otherwise the NHL will have to intervene. Someone from player safety needs to stop these fucking shots because I hate them.”
