Young actress Millie Bobby Brown says she is grateful for everything on the popular series Stranger Things will have brought her with her, but it’s time for her to focus on other projects.
The actress playing Eleven in the Netflix mega-hit is approaching the fifth and final season of the series like her senior year of high school.
“When you reach your senior year, you say to yourself; “Let’s do it, then we’ll get out of here,” she told Glamor magazine in an interview published Monday. “Stranger Things takes a long time to produce and prevents me from creating stories that I truly care about. So I’m ready to say ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye,’” she adds.
The 19-year-old actress expressed her gratitude for this series, which gave her “the tools and resources to become a better actress” and also allowed her to make beautiful friendships.
Filming for the fifth season of Stranger Things was scheduled to start in autumn 2023, but strikes in Hollywood are delaying everything. Science fiction fans will therefore have to wait at least until spring 2025 before they can see Millie Bobby Brown back in her role for a final season.
A film with Chris Pratt
Millie Bobby Brown will star alongside Chris Pratt in The Electric State, scheduled for 2024 release. Filming on this feature film, produced by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo (Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame), ended in February 2023.
“The Electric State” is the film adaptation of the graphic novel “Passages” by Simon Stålenhag, published in 2017. The story follows the journey of a young, runaway teenager trying to find civilization in a post-apocalyptic America.
