We were right in my NHL free bet yesterday as the Boston Bruins beat the Winnipeg Jets 4-1. Today I have another solid prediction.
My tip is for the Ottawa Senators at odds of around 1.71 in decimal format. They will play against the Canadian in Montreal.
The Senators will come into this game with confidence after coming back from a deficit in Philadelphia to beat the Flyers 5-3. In return, CH suffered an embarrassing 4-9 loss to the Bruins last Saturday.
The Canadian's defense has been disastrous in the last two games. In total they conceded 15 goals. They also allowed six goals to the Sens last Thursday.
During this most recent confrontation between the two teams, Jacques Martin's side had too much attacking power for the Habs defense to contain. I expect a similar scenario tonight. The Canadian will have difficulty stopping the puck from hitting the net.
In the last 10 meetings between these two teams, the Senators have been ahead with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. And over the last seven games, Ottawa has averaged 5.14 goals, compared to 2.42 for Montreal. That's what I call domination.
Success at the Bell Center
One of my concerns, however, is that the Senators have struggled to perform well on opposing ice over the last seven games. They have a disappointing record of two wins and five losses.
However, in their last seven visits to the Quebec metropolis, they showed an opposite performance with five wins and two defeats.
Just like the Sens on the road, CH didn't do well at home either. In front of his fans, he can point to a record of four wins and eleven defeats in 15 games.
In summary, the Senators dominated the Canadiens and tonight's game should be no exception. After five straight losses, Ottawa bounced back with three wins and two losses, with one of those losses coming in overtime against the fearsome Winnipeg Jets.
That's why I'm picking the Senators to maintain their winning streak against the Canadiens by extending their winning streak against their division rivals to eight.
