He boasted of their “amazing” new relationship: “Olivia and this baby helped save me from myself on this early journey of recovery.”

Former Amtrak conductor from Delaware challenges Biden’s ally in House race

republican House hope Lee Murphy held the presidency Joe Biden‘s ticket when the then-senator traveled to Washington by Amtrak train – he now hopes to bring the president’s native US ally to DelawareThe race for Congress.

Murphy is once again challenging Democratic MP Lisa Blunt Rochester for the seat of the Delaware Grand Chamber.

And while Biden’s name at the top of the ticket overshadows Murphy’s chances in 2020, he hopes this year’s race will be a referendum for his home state president.

“Delaware is a small state and I worked for 35 years on the railroad, particularly with Amtrak as a locomotive engineer and conductor,” Murphy told DailyMail.com at this week’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando.

“I’ve taken his ticket many times,” Murphy told Biden, who famously traveled between Wilmington and Washington by train, earning him the nickname “Amtrak Joe.”

The two knew each other from the train – and from political circles.

“We had a lot of conversations,” Murphy said. “And Joe was hugging me with his hand – getting off the train – ‘Hey, Lee, you can’t win in this state, you have to be a Democrat, come to me,'” he recalled Biden would say.

Murphy lost his House race in 2020 to Blunt Rochester by about 17 points. The state has Democratic Party Governor John Carney and Democratic Meaning. Chris Koons and Tom Carper.

The last Republican senator from Delaware lost his re-election in 2000. And the last member of the Republican House of Representatives, Mike Castle, retired in 2011 and then unsuccessfully ran for the US Senate.

“He’ll see me everywhere and say, ‘This guy isn’t going to be a Democrat, you know, Lee Murphy, he’d be a good candidate as a Democrat,'” Murphy told Biden. “But no, there’s no way that’s going to happen.”

Murphy has always been a Republican. He said that in all the years Biden had been on the ballot, Murphy had never voted for the man who was often his passenger.

“And you know, it’s hard to believe that this man I’ve known for so many years is actually the president of the United States,” Murphy said.

“I mean, it’s kind of funny,” he continued. “I thought it was funny when he was vice president.”

Murphy said he was motivated to run because of the opioid crisis, complained that schools were not up to par in Delaware and said the economy was “flat”.

As a former Amtrak employee – Murphy retired as an engineer and conductor in 2011 – the GOP candidate supports investment in rail transport.

He lives outside Wilmington, the center of Amtrak’s Northeast Regional Railroad.

“He never did anything for Delaware all the time he was a senator and was a senator in Delaware for 36 years, and Republicans never challenged him, never challenged him in the election, which was unfortunate,” Murphy told Biden.

He puts Blunt Rochester in the same category.

“We have a liberal congresswoman. Who made zero for Delaware, “he said.

“She is also in office and not campaigning. She is right. She is playing the card of identity politics and feels that she will not be defeated. And he supports Joe Biden, he supports Nancy Pelosi, and he actually helped elect Kamala Harris as vice president, “he added.

Blunt Rochester was part of a four-member Democrat-nominated Biden commission tasked with finding him a candidate for 2020.

“It’s not effective,” he continued.

But Biden’s ghost hopes to stay at the top of the ticket.

“This is a big referendum on probably the worst president we’ve had, at least in my life,” he said, adding that if a Republican overthrows Blunt Rochester, “it will be known everywhere.”

Murphy travels to the Orlando conference in hopes of gaining media approval, raising funds for the campaign – and, if he’s really lucky, winning the approval of former President Donald Trump.

Lee Murphy (right) also works as an actor and even plays Secretary of Defense in the second season of House of Cards (pictured).

Lee Murphy (right) also works as an actor and even plays Secretary of Defense in the second season of House of Cards (pictured).

Trump has time to speak in prime time on Saturday night.

“I would like to get the approval of the president, President Trump – not Joe Biden – although Joe Biden would say I’m a good person,” Murphy said. “But I don’t even want that.”

The CPAC, which kicked off on Thursday, has sparked a number of political hopes from Republicans, hoping to attract the attention of the former president.

Like Trump, Murphy remains skeptical of the 2020 election.

The State Republican Party appealed to the court in August 2020 in an attempt to block the state from sending ballots by mail to every registered voter, but in September a judge denied the move, allowing ballots to be sent by mail.

“And we got a phone call after a phone call after a phone call for dead people receiving ballots,” Murphy said.

“So were these elections legitimate?” No, it was not legal. No one can say that, “he continued. “Fortunately, we will not have any newsletters in the mail in Delaware this year. Republicans in the state legislature have assured me that they will not vote for it.

There is no evidence of widespread electoral fraud in the 2020 election, as Trump continues.

Cook’s political report gave the Blunt Rochester area a plus six Democratic advantage, meaning Murphy has a climb, but not an insurmountable climb.

If that doesn’t work, Murphy has also been working as an actor for years.

And he even tasted Washington before – playing the Secretary of Defense in the House of Cards in the second season of the hit political show.

The ministry wrote: “In order to confuse and disorient the enemy who is moving illegally to Ukraine, we call for: – to remove signs with numbers and names of streets / cities / villages in their regions.”

“We will do everything possible to clear Ukraine of the Russian occupier as soon as possible!”

Ukravtodor said: “We are dismantling road signs on all roads in the country.

“Priority №1 – signposts, names of settlements. The collected signs are handed over to local authorities and passengers.

“The enemy has a meager connection, they do not orient themselves in the area.

“Let’s help them go straight to hell.”

Ukravtodor calls on all road organizations, territorial communities and local authorities to immediately start dismantling nearby road signs.

The rebuke of Vladimir Putin’s forces comes after reports of a small militia of Ukrainian troops on Snake Island in the Black Sea defiantly told a Russian warship “get away” before losing their lives defending the land.

The opposition of the defenders of Snake Island has become Ukraine’s resistance to Russian aggression.

The phrase was shown on a digital road sign on a major Ukrainian highway near Borispol, according to the Kyiv Post, an independent English-language news agency in the country.

Disobedient President Vladimir Zelensky has vowed to “destroy the occupiers”, saying his country’s army has successfully repulsed Russian forces advancing on Kiev.

In a video message to the besieged nation, Zelensky accused the Kremlin of trying to seize the capital, overthrow the government and establish a “puppet” regime “like in Donetsk”, one of the two separatist regions that war-mongering Vladimir Putin officially acknowledged before complete invasion.

Saying that “we broke their idea”, he added: “The fights are taking place in many cities and regions of our country. But we know that we are defending the country, the land, the future of our children. Kiev and key cities around the capital are controlled by our army.

“Every Ukrainian must have one thing in mind: if you can stop and destroy the occupiers – do it. Anyone who can return to Ukraine – to return to defend Ukraine.

Meanwhile, curfew in Kiev has been introduced until 8 am on Monday to ensure the most effective protection of the city and the safety of the people. The previous daily curfew was from 10 to 7 in the morning.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said: “All civilians on the street during curfew will be considered members of the enemy’s sabotage and intelligence groups.”

This comes after a high-rise apartment building in Kiev was hit by a devastating rocket this morning, while the number of civilians killed in Ukraine reached 198.

WAR IN UKRAINE: LAST

People’s Convoy stops taking donations after raising more than $ 855,000

The People’s Convoy stopped accepting donations after raising nearly $ 1 million as the group, consisting of dozens of truck drivers and 100 other vehicles, flooded highways protesting COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates during their trip. to Washington, DC this weekend.

Inspired by Canada‘s Convoy of freedom protest, the convoy began its 11-day transition from California to the nation’s capital on Wednesday and is expected to arrive in the District of Columbia on March 5.

On Friday, just three days after the march, the convoy raised more than $ 855,000 in cash donations, according to the protest website – almost twice the amount reported on Thursday.

But the amount remains the same on Saturday, as the website notes: “From Friday, 25.02.22 11:10 EST – donations are over.”

DailyMail.com contacted the organization for clarification.

The convoy left Russell’s truck stop in Glenrio, Texas – which crosses New Mexico and Lone Star State – on Saturday morning and is expected to pass through Austin between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Photos posted on social media and by convoy leader Mike Landis show the group, consisting of several dozen semi-trucks and other vehicles traveling east on I-40, spanning eight miles. Supporters built bridges and overpasses, waving flags and driving trucks to signal.

Truckers have called on President Joe Biden to end the national state of emergency, which was imposed at the start of the 2020 pandemic and extended again last week. The group, claiming that the threat posed by the coronavirus has already receded, is also seeking to end “unconstitutional” requirements for vaccines and masks.

However, almost every state in America has revoked or eased its indoor mask mandate, or set a date for it in the near future. The only detainee is Hawaii, the island nation that had the toughest mandates anywhere in the country during the pandemic.

In addition, only 19 states currently have valid vaccine mandates – but the mandates do not apply to all individuals and their requirements vary from country to country.

The convoy began its 11-day march from California to the nation’s capital on Wednesday, and despite a delay on Thursday, it is still expected to arrive in the District of Columbia on March 5, where it will be joined by about 25 other truck cavalcades.

The convoy left Glenrio, Texas on Saturday morning and is expected to pass through Austin, Texas between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

According to social media reports, supporters plan to use the 12th Street Bridge in Austin as a view to see the convoy move.

Photos posted by supporters of the route show people waving American flags standing on overpasses and children pumping their hands, prompting truck drivers to signal.

The convoy is expected to arrive in Elk City, Oklahoma on Saturday night for the night, and then head to Vinita, Oklahoma on Sunday.

Elk City police posted an update on Facebook, saying they were aware of the convoy’s arrival and warned residents of congestion in the area.

“Elk City Police, along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, will work to ensure the safety of transportation and our visitors and citizens,” the statement said.

Despite the apparent success of the People's Convoy, experts say truck convoys are not actually subject to coronavirus restrictions, especially since most states have already begun lifting them. Although the California-based People’s Convoy will not arrive in the District of Columbia in time for Biden’s annual address on the state of the union on Tuesday, the eight-vehicle caravan – including a semi, four pickup, two sedan and SUV – will travel from Pennsylvania.

The Pentagon deployed 700 members of the National Guard in the capital before the convoys arrived.

The leader of the Pennsylvania convoy, Bob Bolus, vowed to close the ring road and other roads to and from the District of Columbia. He did not reveal how he intends to block traffic, but said he “will not create a traffic problem more than they live with every day.”

Unlike the Bolus and the Canadian Freedom Convoy, the People’s Convoy does not intend to violate roads or bridges. The organizers promised “100% safe, legal and peaceful travel”, which “will end near the DC area, but will NOT enter DC directly.”

“Many people have asked why we are doing this – what is your reason behind this. People want a defined, clear answer. They think it’s one thing, “said organizer Brian Braise, before the band left California.

“It simply came to our notice then. It’s about my future grandchildren. It’s about our families. It is about our country. It is about letting our government know that you are working for us.

The convoy of people was greeted on Friday morning by New Mexico residents standing on overpasses with placards waving American flags.

The group, which was traveling to Texas for its next night stop, left Arizona after holding a rally with Myron Lizer, a Navajo vice president.

“I’m here to greet you.” I’m here to confess and accuse you, “he told the crowd. “Please, while you go out there, keep an eye out for what our creator is doing right now, but people are getting up. People are dissatisfied.

“So where are we ourselves in this whole political scheme?” Lizer asked.

He continued, praying for the convoy and giving a blessing before the drivers hit the road.

The people’s convoy received support along its route, according to Chris Young, who is the administrator of the group’s Facebook page.

After their first stop in Arizona, she took to Facebook, applauding citizens who lined the streets in honor of their arrival.

“We want to thank each of you for your support. Welcoming the Arizona overpasses and the Great American Pizza yesterday was absolutely amazing !! ‘ she wrote Thursday morning.

The convoy organizer also thanked Crazy Fred’s Truck Stop and Rebel Oil, both in Kingman, Arizona, for donating 25,000 gallons of fuel to the convoy.

She claims that shop workers brought fuel to the Great American Pizza and Sub, in the Golden Valley, where the convoy spent its first night on the road and refilled their vehicles.

However, Kensington Palace, where they live in Apartment 1A and have offices and their Royal Charitable Foundation, will remain their weekly base.

This means that in the near future Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk, may return to the Queen to hand over to another family member or be rented out privately.

The change came as William and Kate began to determine where they saw their family settling.

Of course, it may be another 20 years before the couple joins the throne, and they want to allow their offspring as normal a childhood as possible before that.

Sources say they adore Norfolk and, if their circumstances were different, would have enjoyed raising their children at Queen Sandringham’s mansion.

But they took over the house when William was based in Cambridge, working for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and their lives are very different now.

And their roles require them to be in London more often than not. As a result, they have decided to continue living there, even when they become Prince and Princess of Wales, at least in time.

But both William and Kate are country people at heart, a love inherited from their children.

Although George, who will turn nine in July, is also extremely happy at Thomas in London, his parents believe it is time for him to move to a school outside the city, where all facilities are on one campus, writes the Daily Mail. numerous, well-located sources.

A weekly or “flexible” board is on the cards. Both William and Kate were boarders from an early age.

Ludgrove, a Berkshire-only boys’ boarding school where Prince William and his brother Prince Harry attended from the age of eight to 13, is being considered.

The couple was also spotted in St. Andrews in Pangburn, where Kate was a student – and some acquaintances consider her a good contender – as well as in Papplewick, another school for boys in Ascot.

Apparently on a visit to Papplewick, a student told Kate that “she looks just like the Duchess of Cambridge.”

However, sources told the Mail that the couple had been seen visiting Lambrook “many times” – where it is said that William even talked to a student about Latin lessons.

As a co-educational institution, this would allow Cambridge to send all three children to the same school when Charlotte and Lewis, who currently attend Wilcocks Kindergarten, are older.

The school charges between £ 6,448 and £ 6,999 per semester plus another £ 1,481 per semester per boarding house and is described as’ bucolic ‘, with one reviewer saying they noticed’ children riding a cart on the lawn for croquet … with the right rosy cheeks and a healthy glow in the open. ‘

His graduates go to many prestigious public schools, including Eaton.

This means that George is very likely to follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle at the age of 13.

Earlier this month, the Mail revealed that Windsor Castle was intended for Cambridge one day, instead of Prince Charles, who preferred Highgrove.

While at school, William often left Ethan for lunch with his grandmother at her Berkshire residence.

A source said: “The secret is that Cambridge wants to settle in Berkshire and George is ready to leave Thomas this summer, unless circumstances suddenly change.

“This is the county’s conversation and they will, of course, be extremely welcome.

“They always put their children first and foremost in everything they do, so finding the right school is a priority. It’s about what works for them as a family.

Another source, although aware that the family is looking for options in Berkshire, stressed that “firm decisions” have not yet been made.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

The video claims to show Ukrainians mocking a Russian tank

The video claims to show Ukrainians mocking a Russian tank stranded on fuel on the way to Kiev

This is the moment when a Ukrainian driver mockingly asks the invaders if they need to “pull back to Russia” after noticing that their tank was damaged on the way to Kiev.

The video, which has been widely circulated on social media, appears to show a meeting between a group of Ukrainians and Russians who are said to have blocked a roadside outside the Ukrainian capital.

The footage begins with the driver slowing down to a stop as he approaches a Russian tank that has “broken” on the side of the road and is waiting for diesel.

The Ukrainian motorist lowered his window before jokingly offering to withdraw troops back to Russia, causing a roar of laughter from everyone involved.

Hundreds of people, including former Ukrainian journalist Viktor Kovalenko, took to Twitter to share a translation of the humorous exchange.

Fighting is taking place in and around major Ukrainian cities for the third day in a row, as Kiev’s defense ministry has so far estimated Russia’s losses at about 2,800 troops, 80 tanks, 516 armored vehicles and 10 planes and seven helicopters.

Intelligence experts predict that Vladimir Putin’s war with Ukraine worth 15 billion pounds will no longer be planned due to the Kremlin’s “overconfidence”, poor tactical planning and the “shock” of fierce resistance from brave Ukrainians fighting for national survival.

As the driver approached, he lowered his window to see if they were damaged, while Russian troops responded and said they were “waiting for diesel.”

The quick-witted driver then mockingly asks, “Do you need a tug back in Russia?” Before the soldiers burst out laughing.

The Ukrainian continues and asks: “Where did you go? Do you know? ”, Which the Russians apparently answer and say they do not know.

“You’re going to Kiev.” Nobody knows where they are or where they are going, “said the driver, before adding:” So far, our country is doing better, your boys are doing well. “

The video marks the latest in a series of humiliating clashes against the Russian military as Ukraine continues its heroic stance against invading forces.

The Kremlin is believed to have been surprised by Ukraine’s resistance, with Putin reportedly calling an emergency meeting with his immediate entourage to complain that the invasion was no longer planned.

The Russian military has now been ordered to expand its offensive “from all directions” after senior US defense officials said Russia was facing more resistance than Moscow had expected when it invaded Ukraine, including its offensive. to Kiev, and seems to have lost some of its momentum.

Former Estonian Defense Chief Riho Terras has already said Putin’s war will not be planned because Russia is running out of money and weapons and will have to start talks with Vladimir Zelensky’s government if Kiev detains the Russians for 10 days.

Former Estonian Defense Chief Riho Terras has already said Putin’s war will not be planned because Russia is running out of money and weapons and will have to start talks with Vladimir Zelensky’s government if Kiev detains the Russians for 10 days.

Citing sources from Ukrainian intelligence, Terras said the war cost Russia about 15 billion pounds a day and that they had missiles for a maximum of three to four days, which they used sparingly.

He claims Putin’s plan relies on panic in the country, launching rockets at apartment buildings “at random” to “intimidate” Ukrainians, provoking mass army desertions, national capitulation and Zelensky’s flight from the country.

Terras also claims that Russian special operations have been close to Kiev since February 18 and planned to quickly seize the capital and introduce a puppet regime.

“The Russians are shocked by the fierce resistance they have encountered. Ukrainians must avoid panic! … Ukraine must remain strong and we must help! “He wrote on Twitter.

Fighting in Ukraine feels close to home for these Americans

Fighting in Ukraine feels close to home for these Americans

“It’s emotionally hard on both sides,” he said. “You don’t say goodbye, but it almost does, because you don’t know when the conversation might continue.”

His wife’s parents are among the 130,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ukraine. In 2017, Russia banned a denomination whose members believe in non-violence and refuse to take up arms in war; Russia called it an extremist group. Since then, according to denomination statistics, about 1,700 Witness homes in Russia have been ransacked and about 320 Witnesses have been imprisoned, including in Crimea. Mr. Telishchak did not dare to guess what might happen in Ukraine.

According to him, the couple tried not to watch too much news, so as not to get too upset. When it was time for bed, they kept looking at Viber, the messaging app they use to communicate with their family. – You go to bed, you check. Wake up, check it out,” he said. “We told them: “Whatever, you write, call, at any time.”

On Thursday afternoon, his wife received word that an air raid siren had gone off and that her parents had fled their old concrete house. A member of their congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses drove by outside and pushed them into his car. The men in their ward checked on them and others for several weeks, making sure everyone had a bag, flashlights, water, and a plan.

If the parents have to leave the country as refugees, Mr. Telishak hopes that other Witnesses will accept them. “Having a community or a religion without borders is a great comfort to us,” he said.

He found solace in the Gospel of Matthew, in which Jesus told his disciples not to be afraid when there are wars and rumors of wars, when people rise up against people.

“We also understand that the Bible predicts a time when all this will be gone, when there will be no more of these wars, no more of these conflicts between peoples, enmity and contention,” he said. “The students didn’t ask because they wanted to know when things were going to get really bad. They wanted to know when there would be a solution, when a fix would come.”
