Illegal immigration in Biden’s first year led to a new peak in the American population born abroad

Unprecedented levels of illegal immigration during the presidency Joe BidenThe first year of US rule led to the highest point ever, a new study has revealed.

An analysis of census data from the U.S. Immigration Research Center found that there are currently 46.6 million legal and illegal immigrants born abroad in the country – 1.7 million more than last year and 2.2 million from 2020.

The number is the largest ever recorded in a government study or ten-year census since their introduction in 1850.

The authors also note that the increases observed since 2020 are significantly higher than the average annual increase of 770,000 recorded in the decade before the pandemic.

In addition, the study found that Spanish-speaking immigrants accounted for approximately 70 percent – or 1.1 million – of the increase, suggesting that much of the sudden growth was driven by illegal immigration, with the federal government and experts estimating that approximately 75 percent of illegal immigrants are of Spanish descent.

He also noted a significant reduction in registered immigrants by mid-2020, the last year of Trump’s presidency, after the head of state introduced a number of policies, including Title 42, which allows U.S. officials to send illegal border crossers back to Mexico, even if they come from another country.

“All of these factors, as well as others, have significantly slowed the pace of arrival in the country,” the study said.

Immigration has risen since Joe Biden became president in January 2021, with many migrants flocking to the southern border, hoping for a softer treatment than was envisioned under Donald Trump.

Biden himself maintains a tough policy – Title 42 – introduced by Trump, which allows immigration and customs officials to expel adults who cross the border illegally without children.

An analysis by the independent U.S. organization, which studies immigration trends since its inception four decades ago, further reveals that the U.S.-born population now accounts for more than 14.2 percent of the nation’s population, the highest has been for 112 years.

The study’s authors attribute the increase to weak policies pursued by the new president, who was sworn in just over a year ago, which he said allowed illegal immigrants to cross the US-Mexico border en masse.

“The large influx of illegal immigrants along the southern border, caused in part by the perception based on his campaign promises that President Biden would limit immigration, explains at least part of the increase in immigrant population we are seeing,” said Stephen Camarotta, director of Research Center and demographer Karen Zeigler wrote in a summary of the organization’s study.

They warned that their numbers would increase in the coming years.

“If current trends continue, the share of immigrants is likely to surpass the record highs reached in 1890 (14.8 percent) and 1910 (14.7 percent) over the next few years,” the authors said, referring to the influx of immigrants. in the country. seen by countries like Italy and Ireland after the Industrial Revolution.

Given this, the population of the United States at these points in history was only a small fraction of what it is today – an incredible 329.5 million – with only approximately 62 million in 1890 and 92 million in 1910. d.

The survey also cannot account for the current exact number of illegal immigrants due to the fact that many of them do not pay taxes and avoid disclosure to the government and are thus not reported to the US Census Bureau.

An estimated 12 million unauthorized immigrants live in the United States today, although the number could be much higher, the authors said in a report released Wednesday.

Over the past year, the country has struggled with the problem of illegal immigration, as approximately 2 million potential migrants have been stopped at the US-Mexico border by US border guards. Meanwhile, millions of others have probably avoided disclosure in order to enter the country illegally – now in unreported numbers, according to data from the center’s analysis.

According to the authors, who cite figures from the study to support their claims, Biden is to blame for the crisis, due to his removal of policies pursued by his predecessor Donald Trump, this would – and before it was, the data show – quench the speed. including placing a kibosh on the former president’s planned border wall and tighter entry and deportation policies.

Haitian families are crossing the Rio Bravo illegally to surrender to US authorities at the border. Trump's 42nd policy allows US officials to send illegally crossing borders back to Mexico, even if they come from another country. Since then, Biden has pursued weaker immigration policies, spurring a sudden jump, said the study's author.

Following Trump’s crackdown on rising levels of illegal immigration, the country reported low levels of 43.8 million in August and September 2020, which has since recovered since Biden took office, rising by 2.8 million to newly registered 46.6 million in January this year.

Federal officials said the jump began a month before Biden took office after the election, suggesting future immigrants saw an opportunity to emigrate to the country due to the weak immigration policy promised by the Democrat during his campaign.

The center’s report notes: “The immigrant population began to grow compared to the same month last year, in December 2020, and continues to grow every month thereafter.”

Since then, several states have challenged Biden’s more careless immigration policies.

On Wednesday, Arizona Attorney General Mark Bernovich told the Supreme Court in Washington that the Biden administration must resume existing practices to grant immigration status to reliable migrants who can survive in the country without government welfare programs such as welfare.

Trump also condemned Biden’s approach to the immigration problem, he said in an interview with Fox News last year that the new president did not show “any leadership” with his position on the issue during a crisis that could “destroy our country.”

The number of illegal immigrants entering the United States fell by 14% in January to 153,941, with half of those crossing being expelled from Biden using a law passed by Donald Trump.

U.S. Border Patrol and Field Operations Officers registered 153,941 bans in January after 178,840 were reported in December 2021, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data presented to a federal court in Texas this week.

At least 78,486 people were deported Mexico under the Immigration Order of Title 42, a Trump-era policy that first republican President came into force in March 2020

The measure allows CBP to expel migrants under Disease Control Centers and a public health prevention order that considers them a health risk under COVID-19.

Border data presented to a federal court in Texas this week shows a 14% drop in undocumented encounters with migrants at the southwestern border in January compared to December 2021.

US President Joe Biden Former US President Donald Trump

As President Joe Biden continues to implement former Presidential President Donald Trump’s controversial 42nd Order, which allows migrants to be expelled to Mexico on the grounds that they pose a threat to US health, the Democratic leader chose not to return unaccompanied children across the border.

Biden’s continued adoption of the policy has infuriated progressives, who say it is cruel and inhumane.

They are further angry that the Democratic president has chosen to pursue a policy that has proved extremely popular with Trump and Central American supporters, but which has been condemned as a racist by the hard left.

But with declining approval ratings and rising inflation showing no signs of slowing, the president is well aware that he cannot be seen as soft on immigration ahead of the November midterm elections, which are currently expected to bring significant gains to the Republican party.

Under Trump, nearly 400,000 migrants were denied asylum and asylum at the border and returned to Mexico. The Biden administration has expelled more than 1.2 million.

NASAs Hubble Space Telescope Captures a SPACE TRIANGLE from Star

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope Captures a SPACE TRIANGLE from Star Formation

NASAThe Hubble Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of a “space triangle” where two galaxies collide, leading to a tsunami since the birth of a star.

The duo is commonly known as Arp 143, made up of the bright, distorted star-forming galaxy NGC 2445 and the less screaming NGC 24444.

NGC 2445 is distorted to look triangular, with a wave of bright light as the stars form at a rapid rate from the material shaken by the collision.

U.S.-based astronomers at the Flatiron Center for Computational Astrophysics in New York and the University of Washington in Seattle are analyzing images from the 32-year-old low-orbit observatory.

They explained that the galaxies passed through each other, igniting a uniquely shaped fiery storm to form stars, where thousands of stars explode in life.

The galaxy is flooded with stellar birth because it is rich in gas, the fuel that makes the stars, but has not yet escaped the gravitational pull of partner NGC 2444, which makes them start space tug of war, which seems NGC 2444 profitable.

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captures a stunning image of a “space triangle” where two galaxies collide, leading to a star-born tsunami

The Dancing Galaxies were discovered in a catalog compiled by astronomer Halton Arp in 1966, comprising 338 strange interacting galaxies.

He believed that these special galaxies were excellent laboratories for studying the physical processes that distorted normal-looking elliptical and spiral galaxies.

He was one of the first to suggest that galactic encounters could form stars in bursts.

One such Arp galaxy that explodes with new stars is Arp 143, captured in these new images by the Hubble Space Telescope.

“Simulations show that head-on collisions between two galaxies are one way to create rings of new stars,” said leading astronomer Julian Dalcanton.

“Therefore, star rings are not uncommon. The strange thing about this system, however, is that it is a triangle of star formation.

“Part of the reason for this shape is that these galaxies are still so close to each other, and NGC 2444 is still gravitating to the other galaxy.

“NGC 2444 may also have an invisible, hot halo of gas that could help pull NGC 2445’s gas away from its core. So they are not yet completely free of each other and their unusual interaction distorts the ring in this triangle.

NGC 2445 is distorted to look triangular, with a wave of bright light as the stars form at a rapid rate from the material shaken by the collision. A wide view of the Arp 143 area was found

The dimer of the two galaxies is also responsible for pulling “playful gas filaments” from its partner, lining up streamers of young blue stars that appear to form a bridge between the two galaxies.

These bands were among the first in what appears to be a wave of star formation that began on the outskirts of NGC 2445 and continued inward when the two collided.

The team behind the study estimates that streamers were born 50 and 100 million years ago and were abandoned in the triangle area as NGC 2445 continues to move slowly away from NGC 2444.

According to the team, stars no older than one million to two million years are forming closer to the center of NGC 2445.

Hubble is so sharp that it is able to separate some individual stars in the image, although most of the brilliant blue lumps are groups of stars. The pink spots are giant young star clusters, still shrouded in dust and gas.

Although most of the action takes place in NGC 2445, this does not mean that the other half of the interacting couple escaped unscathed. Gravity has stretched NGC 2444 into a strange shape.

The galaxy contains old stars and there is no new birth because it lost its gas long before this galactic encounter.

“This is a close example of the types of interactions that have taken place long ago. It’s a fantastic sandbox for understanding star formation and interacting galaxies, “said Elena Sabi of the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Maryland.

NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope is still in operation and has made more than 1.5 million observations since its mission began in 1990.

The Hubble Space Telescope was launched on April 24, 1990, by the Discovery space shuttle from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

It is named after the famous astronomer Edwin Hubble, who was born in Missouri in 1889.

He is perhaps best known for discovering that the universe is expanding and the speed at which it is expanding – he has now invented the Hubble constant.

Hubble has made more than 1.5 million observations since its inception in 1990 and has helped publish about 18,000 scientific papers.

It orbits the Earth at a speed of about 17,000 miles per hour (27,300 km / h) in low Earth orbit at an altitude of about 340 miles.

Hubble has a targeting accuracy of 0.007 arcseconds, which is like being able to shine a laser beam focused on the head of Franklin D. Roosevelt at a penny about 200 miles (320 km) away.

Hubble’s main mirror is 2.4 meters in diameter (7 feet, 10.5 inches) and a total of 13.3 meters (43.5 feet) – the length of a large school bus.

The launch and deployment of Hubble in April 1990 marked the most significant advance in astronomy since the Galileo Telescope.

Thanks to five service missions and more than 25 years of work, our view of the universe and our place in it has never been the same.

Half of Russians believe it is CORRECT to use military force to keep Ukraine out of NATO, poll reveals

Half of the Russians think it would be right for Russia to use military force against Ukraine to keep the country out of it NATOrevealed a poll.

Fears are growing that it is only a matter of time Vladimir Putin will launch a full-scale attack on Ukraine, with US intelligence indicating that the deadly move will be in the next 48 hours.

Putin said the crisis would only be resolved if Ukraine withdrew from NATO, declared neutrality, “demilitarized” and negotiated with separatists. The West has previously flatly rejected Ukraine’s final ban on NATO.

Fifty percent of Russians believe it is right for a strong Russian man to use the military to stop Ukraine’s accession to NATO, according to a poll conducted by CNN. Only 25 percent of Russians surveyed say that would be wrong.

But the survey also found that 43 percent of Russians thought it would be wrong to invade Ukraine to “unite Russia and Ukraine,” compared to 36 percent who said it would be the right move.

Russian TV presenter and journalist Vladimir Posner told CNN that the poll underscores the general opinion among Russians that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would threaten Russia.

“This suggests that if Ukraine becomes a member of NATO and if NATO forces are deployed on Russia’s doorstep, this will be an existential threat and therefore cannot be allowed,” Posner said.

Orysia Lutzevvch, head of the forum for Ukraine at the British think tank Chatham House, told the news site: “Modern Russia has a syndrome of crumbling empires.

“The loss of these lands is presented as a ‘historical injustice’ that must be remedied, including by force. Ukraine is seen as a jewel in the crown that has been “stolen from NATO”.

“Using the old Soviet intimidation of the United States and NATO, the Russians believe that this is an aggressive bloc that is hampering Russian-Ukrainian unity.”

This comes when US President Joe Biden warned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of an “imminent” attack by Putin‘s troops, just hours later Ukraine it was hit by a “massive” cyberattack targeting its government and banks.

The survey, which surveyed more than 2,000 Russians and Ukrainians, found that 70 percent of people in Ukraine – not surprisingly – said it would be wrong for Russia to use military force against Ukraine to prevent them from joining NATO, while 73 the percentage would be wrong is to do this to unite Russia and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, 50% of Russians said it would be right to use military force if Russia felt threatened by foreign activity in the former Soviet states.

Although Putin is sending 190,000 troops near Ukraine’s border and Western intelligence says troops are “ready to launch” their attack, only 13 percent of Russians surveyed believe Russia will use military force against Ukraine while 75 per cent think they won’t.

The poll was conducted in early February, before Putin recognized two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as independent and sent troops to the regions.

“The reason why 75% of Russians think Russia will not invade Ukraine is simply because of what they read in their newspapers and see on television.

“In principle, there is no hysteria, no beating of the battle drum, a consistent message that we do not want a war and we will not start one,” Posner said.

He added: “The Russians know what Western leaders are saying. Their statements are widely covered in the media. The general feeling is that the West actually wants Russia to attack Ukraine, because that would be in the West’s favor, it pushes Russia to attack.

“They are also of the opinion that while Ukraine cannot resist a comprehensive Russian invasion, Russia will lose much more than any military victory would gain,” he said.

But according to Lutsevich, 75 percent of Russians who believe their country will not invade Ukraine may be due to “how Russian-controlled media and disinformation form an alternative reality for the Russian population.”

Lutsevich told CNN: “In Russia, the West is portrayed as a villain who abuses Ukraine to undermine Russia’s greatness. In the event of Russian military aggression, Russia will be portrayed as fighting against US and NATO forces, not killing its Slavic brethren.

Meanwhile, 42% of Ukrainians believe that Russia will start a war, while 45% believe that this is unlikely.

The majority of Russians surveyed – 65 per cent – said there would be a peaceful end to tensions between Russia and Ukraine, while 43 per cent of Ukrainians agreed.

Meanwhile, US intelligence chiefs fear that Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, is at particular risk of being invaded by Russia as it is close to the Ukrainian-Russian border. Last night, a huge military convoy of more than 100 trucks of soldiers headed for the city.

Ukraine was placed on military grounds today: a state of emergency was declared and approved by parliament, 200,000 military reservists were called in, border areas were restricted and three million Ukrainians were told to leave Russia, with Kiev acknowledging for the first time that the attack could now to be held anywhere and anytime.

As the noose tightened, Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised to send more weapons to help Ukraine defend itself against what the United States has warned would be a comprehensive Russian attack. Johnson also promised more and tougher sanctions against Russia if Putin escalates further.

Earlier in the day, Vladimir Putin addressed a sword to his troops to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day, praising their “combat readiness” and saying he was confident they would fight to protect the interests of the Fatherland. Russian security – what he called “non-negotiable”. Russia is also evacuating employees from its embassy in Kiev.

Ukraine’s security agency says 45,000 plastic bags for corpses have already been ordered on Russian fronts, giving the first hint of the number of lives Putin is willing to sacrifice to get what he wants – after Joe Biden said. that blood transfusion supplies were also delivered.

UK Foreign Secretary Liz Trass has warned that Putin is “hellishly inclined” to a full-scale invasion of Ukraine with a direct attack on the capital Kiev “very likely” to be in his plans. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison predicts the attack is “likely to happen within the next 24 hours”.

Truth Social 500000 wait list users booted for mocking Nunes

Truth Social: 500,000 wait list, users booted for mocking Nunes and rules to stop ‘harassing’ Trump

The rollout of Donald Trump‘s new platform Truth Social has been turbulent as it amassed a 500,000-person wait list to access the app as well as earning the No. 1 spot on the Apple App Store.

In the first 72 hours of its launch, Truth Social soared to the top of the Apple chart for free apps, but some actions have users confused over if it really is the free speech alternative the former president promised.

Users are getting booted from the site for mocking Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) CEO Devin Nunes.

A rule on the terms of service page makes users agree to not ‘harass, intimidate, or threaten any of our employees or agents engaged in providing any portion of the Service to you.’

Reports on Tuesday claim that the rules prohibited users from ‘disparaging, tarnishing or otherwise harming’ backers of the site, which presumably includes Trump and Nunes.

It does not currently appear that the terms of service still includes that wording in its prohibited actions on the website.

An account called @DevinNunesCow was reportedly banned from Truth. The account’s handle referred to the TMTG CEO and outgoing California Representative.

The parody account was likely inspired by the jokester Twitter account @DevinCow, which assumes the persona of a cow owned by the politician, a former dairy farmer.

Web developer and internet personality Matt Ortega tweeted Tuesday that he was emailed by the platform saying that the account was permanently banned after he tried to make it on Truth Social this week.

This rule is puzzling some users who thought that Trump’s long promised social media website was supposed to be a minimally moderated platform alternative from Twitter and Facebook, which Trump and his allies have complained censor and stifle right-leaning voices far disproportionately to those on the left.

Other issues riddling the site include technical glitches causing some users to never receive a verification e-mail to complete sign-up for their account on Truth Social.

Shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp, the company behind Truth Social, rose about 14 percent on Tuesday.

Since launching Sunday, Truth Social has been downloaded more than 170,000 times and has seen a bump in trading with shares hitting $96.36, the highest since October.

The app has 4.2 stars out of more than 25,000 ratings – the vast majority 5 stars.

The social media venture marks the former president’s return to social media – fittingly on President’s Day – after he was banned from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube last year.

It’s now the number one free app on iPhones and iPads, followed by HBO Max, an app called Talking Ben the Dog, TikTok and YouTube. It also beats out other social media apps of Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, which are ranked seventh, eighth and ninth on the Apple App Store chart respectively.

Users who download Truth Social are being put on a ‘waitlist’ hundreds of thousands of places long, despite signups being open for more than 24 hours.

An attempt to open an account on Tuesday morning by DailyMail.com showed at least 372,378 places in line – that line has raised to at least 500,000 by Wednesday afternoon.

It’s also more than double the 150,000 waiting list spots reported by CNN the previous day.

But some users have had trouble even making it that far. Since its launch Truth Social has been plagued by sign-up errors and delays.

DailyMail.com’s own reporters received error messages on the page Monday when users are asked to enter their birthdates and on the email verification page.

On Tuesday, another attempt to sign up was stalled by a delay in receiving the required account verification link by email.

Truth Social has not launched on Android phones yet, but a similarly-named app raked in more than 100,000 downloads — many by confused Trump supporters hoping to test his app on their smartphones, Business Insider reports.

‘MAGA Hub – Truth Social Trump,’ made by a Germany-based developer, has been available on the Google Play Store since late August. The bulk of its downloads reportedly happened after February 8.

It charges users $28.99 for in-app purchases.

Reviews left on the app show people believing the photo-aggregating social feed is indeed the former president’s Truth Social.

‘Come on Trump I thought you were smarter than this. I will be deleting this app right away, it’s just plain dumb,’ a one-star review read.

A more positive review read: ‘Great platform and new as well. No matter your opinions you will be welcome here without being canceled by some new age barking children.’

Mike Rhodes, the CEO of mobile app marketing consultancy firm ConsultMyApp, told DailyMail.com he thinks that the surge of interest likely won’t last long.

‘This new platform is evidently geared up to promote content with a specific viewpoint, rather than harbor a wide range of views on multiple subjects. Echo chamber platforms like this already exist, however, they are by no-means adopted by the masses,’ Rhodes said.

‘My best guess is that the platform will simply end life as a forum for people to reaffirm existing views, with a small but dedicated user base. Eventually it is likely that Mr. Trump will find another media outlet to serve him better. He’ll pack up his bags, and so too will the remaining platform users.’

Trump brushed off his app’s bumpy launch on Monday while waving to adoring crowds outside his Palm Beach golf club.

Dan Scavino, Trump’s social media director who hasn’t been banished from Twitter, tweeted, ‘Happening now outside of Trump International Golf Club in the GREAT state of FLORIDA! AWESOME!! Happy President’s Day.’

The video shows Trump waving and giving a fist bump to his fans, who were lined up behind fencing across the street.

‘We can’t wait until you’re back in office,’ one man is heard saying.

In the hours after Truth Social was available to download, the company is already facing legal action.

The British solar technology firm TRAILAR is considering suing Truth Social over its nearly identical logo.

‘Based on recent news brought to our attention by various media outlets, showcasing the similarities between our own TRAILAR logo and the Truth Social logo, we are now seeking legal advice to understand next steps and options available to protect our brand,’ the company told DailyMail.com.

‘TRAILAR has no affiliation or connection with the Truth Social network site, with our business firmly focused on decarbonizing global transport through the use of solar and data driven technologies,’ a statement from the company said.

Additionally, people trying to log onto Truth Social are already reporting problems, including receiving error messages and being put on a lengthy waitlist.

The app was available to download shortly before midnight ET and was automatically downloaded to Apple devices belonging to users who had put in pre-orders.

It’s not available on Android phones yet.

Online, users reported a buggy process when trying to sign up.

Potential users posted screengrabs of their place in the long waitlist on Twitter.

Trump’s social platform should be ‘fully operational’ by late March according to Trump Media & Technology Group Chief Executive Devin Nunes, a former California congressman.

Ric Grenell, who served as acting Director of National Intelligence during Trump’s one term in office, urged patience with the sign-up process.

‘They are limiting the number of signups per day at first – so be patient and sign up early,’ he tweeted Monday. ‘No more silencing our voices!’

Truth Social is Trump’s alternative social media site meant to combat Big Tech companies like Facebook and Twitter, which he utilized throughout his presidency but now complains censors conservatives and right-leaning voices and perspectives.

Trump was booted from Twitter shortly after the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot as he continued to push claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential race.

Nunes has also been banned from the platform for the last two years.

‘It’s actually very moving for me to see people that are on [Truth Social] that have had their voice canceled,’ Nunes said.

Truth Social’s app store page detailing its version history showed the first public version of the app, or version 1.0, was available last night for free.

The current version 1.0.1 includes ‘bug fixes,’ according to the page.

TMTG’s team is branding Truth as a First Amendment platform that will not censor voices just because they disagree.

There is excitement surrounding the launch, Nunes said, from people who were ‘booted from social media for the last two or three years.’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who can no longer use her personal Twitter account, tweeted from her Congressional handle on Sunday that she had signed up for Truth Social.

Greene got kicked off of Twitter in January for spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines.

Parler and Gettr are two other sites that have branded themselves as less moderated alternatives to Big Tech companies.

Gettr was launched and is run by former Trump spokesperson Jason Miller.

When Trump started promoting Parler after the January 6 attack as a good alternative to Twitter, Apple took it down from its App Store in January 2021.

The application made a return to the store in May of last year.

But so far none of these social media alternatives have come close to matching the popularity of the mainstream counterparts.

Before being banned by Twitter, Trump had some 89 million followers there and used the platform constantly, both for presidential statements and to attack rivals.

TMTG remains mostly shrouded in secrecy and is regarded with skepticism by some in tech and media circles.

It is unclear, for example, how the company is funding its current growth.

TMTG is planning to list in New York through a merger with blank-check firm Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) and stands to receive $293 million in cash that DWAC holds in a trust, assuming no DWAC shareholder redeems their shares, TMTG said in an Oct. 21 press release.

Additionally, in December TMTG raised $1 billion committed financing from private investors; that money also will not be available until the DWAC deal closes.

Digital World’s activities have come under scrutiny from the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, according to a regulatory filing, and the deal is likely months away from closing.

Texas Gov Greg Abbott has described transgender procedures for children

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has described transgender procedures for children as child abuse

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered the U.S. Child Protection Agency to investigate reports of “gender reassignment procedures” among Lone Star State children as potential child abuse.

Abbott issued the order in a letter Tuesday to the Texas Department of Family and Welfare Services, saying the procedures for transgender youth as hormone therapy is violence against children.

The directive came just one day after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who, like Abbott, is also a republicanissued a statement stating that such procedures were child abuse under existing Texas law.

Supporters say some children are encouraged to undergo serious medical procedures while still too young to know for sure that they are transgender.

But the Biden administration responded vehemently to the Texas order with a the White House a speaker called it unnecessary and dangerous.

“Conservative officials in Texas and other states across the country must stop engaging in health care decisions that create unnecessary tension between pediatricians and their patients,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karin Jean-Pierre told reporters. Dallas morning news.

“No parent should face the agony of a politician who hinders access to life-saving care for their child,” added Jean-Pierre.

Admiral Rachel L. Levine, a transgender woman who is Biden’s assistant secretary of health, also denied Abbott’s move.

“Leading pediatricians in our nation support evidence-based care for transgender sex-affirming young people. The HHS supports transgender youth and their health care providers, “Levine told Morning News.

But Abbott remained firm. Transgender rights have become a hot issue and are one of several cultural themes used by Republicans to present themselves as a sensible, parent-focused alternative to the Democratic Party.

Abbott wrote in his letter that “it is now illegal to subject children in Texas to a wide variety of optional gender reassignment procedures, including relocation surgeries that can cause sterilization, mastectomy, removal of otherwise healthy body parts and application. at puberty – blocking drugs or supraphysiological doses of testosterone or estrogen. ‘

The order requires the DFPS to “conduct a swift and thorough investigation into all reported cases of these abuses.”

The letter notes that doctors, nurses and teachers are authorized reporters who must report alleged violence against children, not to mention that there are “criminal penalties for not reporting such violence against children”.

However, it was not immediately clear what legal impact his move would have on the parents of trans children or whether they would be or could be prosecuted.

Some Texas prosecutors have already ruled out prosecuting such cases, and government agencies have remained largely silent on how they interpret the new guidelines.

While conservative and religious groups praised Abbott’s move, transgender advocates called it harmful and politicized.

That’s what Texas Freedom Network President Val Benavides said Austin is an American statesman that Abbott’s action could deny “life-saving care for transgender youth.”

“Transgender people are already experiencing stigma and discrimination, harassment and violence just because of who they are,” Benavides said, adding that politicians use vulnerable young people as political pawns.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is an Abbott Republican, has issued an opinion stating that certain transition procedures are child abuse under existing Texas law.

“Despite opposition from children’s and medical groups, Paxton and the Texas Republican Party continue to create barriers and laws that deprive transgender children and their families of civil and equal rights.”

In recent months, the Texas Pediatric Society and the Texas Medical Association have called on Paxton not to target transgender children as potential crimes.

However, Abbott’s Republican allies in the Texas legislature praised his move.

“This (Paxton) opinion means nothing if it is not necessary,” Republican Matt Schaefer told the head of state.

“The truth is, however, that we need a special session immediately to look into this, now that we have the support of the Attorney General’s office. We will not back down from this – this is a hill on which we are ready to die, “he added.

Abbott’s letter comes as the debate over transgender athletes excites much of the United States. UPenn female swimmer Leah Thomas – who is transgender – broke records and won competitions against her biological-female competitors, sparking fierce criticism for having an unfair advantage.

Thomas’ success has been used as a multi-state, Republican-run, preliminary bill that will require students to compete in sports of the gender in which they were born.

Two Manhattan prosecutors investigating criminal tax fraud against Trump resign

Two Manhattan prosecutors investigating criminal tax fraud against Trump resign over “suspicions”

Two prosecutors lead Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation into tax fraud Donald Trump and his family business abruptly resigned, it said on Wednesday.

Lawyers Kerry R. Dunn and Mark F. Pomerantz withdrew from the case after Manhattan’s new district attorney, Alvin Bragg, expressed doubts about the continuation of the case against Trump. New York Times reported.

The investigation, which goes hand in hand with an investigation into tax fraud in the Trump Organization by New York Attorney General Leticia James, is investigating whether the former president’s family business misrepresented the value of its assets and allowed certain executives to suspend taxes by compensating them. advantages of books.

Sources close to the investigation said it had stopped for a month in the middle of the presentation of evidence by prosecutors to the grand jury.

It is also reported that Bragg’s team did not question any witnesses for more than a month after postponing the plan to burn at least one person without the green light from the prosecutor’s office.

The two top prosecutors are stepping down, raising serious questions about the future of what Trump called a “witch hunt.” Former Justice Department Inspector General Michael Bromwich said that meant the investigation was “dead”. He also shifted the focus to James’s ongoing civil case after a judge ruled last week that Trump and his children, Jr. and Ivanka, should testify.

The sudden shake threatens to thwart the investigation launched by former District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. in 2018.

Meanwhile, a grand jury convened to help investigate Trump’s real estate empire expires in April.

The investigation sparked late last year when then-prosecutor Vance convened a grand jury. Witnesses reportedly included a Mazars USA accountant who knew about Trump’s financial revelations and a former CEO of Deutche Bank, one of the former president’s biggest creditors, before severing ties with him.

It is not clear why Bragg is moving away from him now.

In December, shortly before taking office, he promised to focus on the high-profile investigation.

“This is obviously a follow-up case that deserves the prosecutor’s personal attention,” Bragg told CNN at the time.

Shortly before taking office, new district attorney Alvin Brag promised CNN “in person” to focus on the high-level investigation.

Earlier, Trump called on New York prosecutors to focus instead on the growing rate of violent crime in the Big Apple, amid a national criminal wave that has engulfed the country’s major cities.

Pomerantz, who once headed the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, joined the investigation last February.

He entered private practice after heading the SDNY’s appeals department, defending clients in dozens of organized crime cases at a time when prosecutors were drastically escalating efforts to put mafia bosses behind bars. On the public side, he also played a key role in the prosecution of Gambino’s criminal family boss John Gotti.

His departure and Dunn virtually ended the case, said former SDNY prosecutor and Justice Department inspector general Michael Bromwich.

“The two chief investigators / prosecutors are resigning = the Manhattan prosecutor’s criminal case is dead,” Bromwich wrote on Twitter.

Alan Weisselberg accused of tax evasion on $ 1.7 million in salaries and benefits

Alan Weisselberg is accused of tax evasion and $ 1.7 million in tax evasion while the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office investigates whether Donald Trump’s real estate empire misrepresented the value of its assets and compensated executives with lavish unregistered gifts. have remained untaxed.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal mediator, whom Pomerantz interviewed during the Trump Organization’s investigation shortly after boarding, accused New York prosecutors of failing to do so after hearing about lawyers leaving.

“I am deeply concerned about this report. “I know that the information that the NYDA has, and not making accusations, is a breach of duty to all New Yorkers and the country,” Cohen said.

The case has so far led to criminal charges against both the Trump Organization and its longtime CFO, Alan Weisselberg.

Weisselberg’s lawyers briefed the court on Tuesday to dismiss his allegations of tax fraud, arguing that the executive was simply “concomitant” in the long-running prosecution of New York prosecutors against Weisselberg’s longtime boss. Donald J. Trump.

Both Weisselberg and the Trump Organization pleaded not guilty.

The longtime chief financial officer has been charged with tax evasion and $ 1.7 million in tax evasion, a charge his legal team wants dropped. They also claim that the accusation of non-payment of local taxes on a luxury apartment in New York falls outside the statute of limitations of three years or more.

The former president has not been charged or charged with wrongdoing in either Bragg’s or James’ investigations.

However, he faced a huge legal setback earlier this month when a judge ruled that he and two of his older children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, should participate in the Attorney General’s civil investigation.

James’ office is investigating whether the company is misleading creditors, investors and tax authorities about the value of Trump’s property.

In another blow, the top accounting firm Mazars USA, which has long processed the former president’s corporate and private tax returns, severed ties with the Trump Organization in early February.

Court documents show that the company has washed its hands of its decades-old financial statements of Trump, claiming that they can no longer be considered reliable.

Trump turned to James and Bragg on Sunday, accusing them of “scaring” Mazars to cut him off.

“My long-standing accounting firm did not leave me for any reason other than being harassed, abused and intimidated by DA and AG, which for years threatened them with accusation and ruin,” he told Save America PAC.

“They were ‘broken’ by these racist prosecutors on the radical left and could not stand it any longer.”

Mazars accountant Donald Bender, who has been in charge of processing the Trump Organization’s financial information for years, appeared before a grand jury convened by a former Manhattan prosecutor last year.

New York Mayor Eric Adams says he “can’t wait” to lift the controversial Covid vaccine mandate indoors

New York Mayor Eric Adams says he “can’t wait” to lift the controversial indoor vaccine mandate, which could ban five-year-olds from indoor if they haven’t been injected

  • New York Mayor Eric Adams hinted Wednesday that he could soon lift his city’s mandate for a vaccine
  • Currently, all New Yorkers over the age of five must show proof of a vaccine in order to attend gyms, restaurants and entertainment.
  • While the city has a mandate for an adult vaccine since the summer, former mayor Bill de Blasio has tightened his mandate just before leaving office
  • Cases in the city declined in the second half of January and have remained low ever since
  • Adams says he is still waiting for Covid figures in the state to meet the criteria set by health officials

new YorkThe controversial indoor vaccine mandate for five-year-olds may soon be a thing of the past.

Mayor Eric Adams, a democrat who took office earlier this year told reporters on Wednesday that he “can’t wait” to resign after receiving the green light from state health leaders.

The controversial policy has been in place since last summer and was intensified at the end of the former mayor’s term Bill de Blasio‘s term. This required all New Yorkers aged five or older to show proof of full vaccination before entering eating, fitness or entertainment venues.

Previously, only adults were required to show evidence of a single dose of vaccine to enter these sites.

De Blasio’s order also requires students to receive at least one hit with Covid in order to participate in some extracurricular activities at school.

The stricter measures came into force on December 27, days before Adams took office. Since he took office, the new mayor has been under pressure to undo the strange move made at the end of his predecessors’ term.

“I can’t wait to do it,” Adams told reporters at a news conference in Brooklyn.

“I meet with my health professionals every morning because I always say I will study science.”

Adams had previously been opaque about how long the vaccine’s tenure would last, and this was the first time he had indicated it could happen soon.

The Big Apple was one of the toughest places in the world of the Omicron variant, leading to Christmas and the New Year.

Cases jumped more than ten times in a few weeks, from about 3,000 a day to 40,000 a day in early January.

The daily numbers of those infected began to fall after that, falling to about 5,000 cases a day by the end of January.

A similar trend is observed in much of America, where massive settlements were severely and early affected by the highly contagious variant before cases declined rapidly after the peak.

In response to the increase in cases, many local leaders, such as de Blasio, have implemented or strengthened Covid-related mandates.

However, these types of measures are beginning to return to America, as cases are declining almost everywhere and health leaders are raising mandates for masks and vaccines.

Adams said state health officials have set criteria that must be met before they are comfortable enough to remove the measures, and he said he plans to abide by them.

He did not tell reporters what exact metrics he and health officials used to assess the level of safety.

“I look forward to the next few weeks of a real transformation where you don’t have to wonder what you look like. [while wearing a mask]”Said Adams.

“We are moving in the right direction. We will do it in a safe way.
