Passenger convicted of ‘unpardonable sin’ for failing to queue at airport – British travelers said they were ‘upset’ with their queue etiquette

A woman has sparked heated debate online after a photograph appeared of her refusing to advance to the check-in line at an airport.

The image, believed to have been taken at an airport in Argentina, was posted to Reddit and shows a large gap between the end of the queue and the unidentified woman, who hadn’t moved to fill the empty space.

While the person who took the picture was obviously stunned by the woman’s inaction, she remained focused on her phone and barely seemed to notice.

The confused photographer must have questioned the traveler at some point, as he claims he was told, “It’s the same whether I’m moving now or later.”

The amusing photo sparked divided opinions. Many claimed queues were a “British” thing, while one person said their refusal to move was an “unforgivable sin”.

The poster wrote on Reddit: “This girl at the airport is waiting for the line to get to the front to proceed.”

“People would confront her and she said, ‘It’s the same if I move now or later.'”

The post divided opinions and sparked 4,700 comments.

One comment read: “This post is making so many Brits so angry.”

Another wrote: ‘They say we Brits like to queue.’ We don’t and I’ll be the first to tell you that.’

Someone else, claiming to be from the US, said, “I’m American and this is freaking irritating.” I bet she’s in the front of the plane and it takes her 20 minutes to get her shit out of the overhead compartment when the plane lands.’

Someone else said, “Apparently that’s the most unpardonable sin.”

Meanwhile, one person joked it would destroy the “illusion of progress.”

The amusing photo sparked divided opinions. Many claimed queues were a “British” thing, while one person said their refusal to move was an “unforgivable sin”.

“Give me gains or give me death,” added another.

Someone else said, “Sometimes I wait for two shuffle forward events before moving to give people behind me the feeling that the line is making more progress.”

Queue etiquette has long been the cause of much unrest at airports.

During the 2017 Chinese New Year travel rush, a violent fight ensued, with two men beating each other in front of a long line of passengers.

While queuing at security, they started arguing because one passenger allegedly tried to avoid the queue, which angered the other and led to a fight.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in southern China. Airport security personnel arrived at the scene and managed to separate the couple.

The two passengers clashed again on a shuttle bus en route to their gates and had another altercation.

The dispute was stopped by security forces and the police were called.

Officials managed to calm both parties, who apologized to each other.
