Peruvian teams will win with increased prizes in Copa Libertadores

The Peruvian clubs are preparing in their respective pre-seasons for the start of the 1st division in 2023, but also for the next one international competitions like the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.

Our Representatives not only look for sporting achievements that will allow us to move beyond the daunting image of continental competitions of recent decades, but also point to economic achievements.

Alianza Lima, FBC Melgar, Sporting Cristal, Sport Huancayo, Universitario de Deportes, Universidad César Vallejo, Cienciano and Deportivo Binacional will try to take advantage of the increase in incentives offered by the conmebol at both tournaments.

On the other hand, the creams, the “poets,” the “imperials,” and the “mightiest of the south” also secured a significant economic sum after sealing their participation in the first phase of the South Americanplayed in a single game.

Universitario and Universidad César Vallejo will get $225,000 for being there, while their respective rivals Cienciano and Deportivo Binacional will get $250,000 for being away.

The amount of awards will increase in the following instances of the ‘Suda’. Clubs will receive $900,000 in the group stage, $500,000 in the round of 16 playoffs, $550,000 in the round of 16, $600,000 in the quarters and $800,000 in the semis. The runner-up will receive $2,000,000 and the champion will receive $5,000,000.

Those selected to defend Peru at the Libertadores and Sudamericana will have a few games to arrive in optimal conditions for these competitions as League 1 2023 begins on Saturday January 21st.
