Pierre Turgeon is honored by the Canadian

A little less than 24 hours after his official induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 13th, Pierre Turgeon will also be honored by the Montreal Canadiens organization.

The Habs announced Monday that the former team captain will receive his spot in the club’s Ring of Honor. A ceremony will be held at the Bell Center on November 14 before the game against the Calgary Flames.

Turgeon became the 25th player in Canadian history to wear the “C” and the last to do so in the Forum. The Quebecer played 104 regular season games for the CH in the three seasons of 1995 and 1996. He amassed 127 points during his short but notable stay in Montreal.

After several years of waiting, the 54-year-old finally received the call from the Hockey Hall of Fame in June. During his 19-year career in the National League, he amassed 1,327 points, good for 34th all-time.

He will enter the temple alongside goalkeepers Henrik Lundqvist, Tom Barrasso and Mike Vernon as well as coach Ken Hitchcock, among others.

The Canadian’s Ring of Honor consists of 59 players, with the surname Guy Carbonneau added in 2019.
