Former US Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was invited to speak at the Liberal Convention in Ottawa and delivered a powerful speech on Friday night, moving from international issues such as the war in Ukraine to more local issues as the Canadian child care program transitioned.

In her keynote address with Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, Clinton reiterated the importance of continuing to support Ukraine in its war against Russia, the National Post reported.
“Ukraine’s struggle for freedom and against Russian aggression is our struggle. It’s not just her fight. The best way to end Putin’s aggression is for Ukraine to win,” said the former foreign minister.
In her opinion, a victory for Ukraine would also curb China’s ambitions of possibly invading Taiwan.
In addition to her comments on the war between Russia and Ukraine, Hillary Clinton used her visit to Ottawa to praise the child care program the Liberals are putting in place. In her opinion, it is such programs that make the Liberal Party of Canada a progressive “pioneer,” in turn, reported the Toronto Star.
She called the idea of $10 a day for child care extraordinary.
