Prince William reveals what touched him most at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral

Official mourning following the death of Elizabeth II will end at the end of the month for the sovereign’s family and Prince William spoke about his state of mind at this difficult moment. King Charles III’s son spoke about the emotions he’s been feeling since the death of his grandmother and the unexpected moments he’s going through during this troubling time.

“In a way, when you think about it, it’s always very comforting to know that so many people care. It makes things a lot more comfortable. There are certain moments that surprise you. You are prepared for anything, but there are moments that catch you unprepared,” he told the BBC of the Windsor staff who helped prepare for the ceremony.

The future king of England was particularly touched by one special attention: the Paddington bear, which many Britons deposited in honor of his grandmother.

“It’s the things we don’t expect that affect us,” he added.

Unbelievable

Prince William and his wife Catherine also reached out to the royal staff who were preparing the flower arrangements. “The spotlight was on Windsor and it was amazing, well done,” said the Princess of Wales.

The arrival of the royal couple delighted staff, including Lindsey Hobbs, who helped organize the funeral with the South Central Ambulance Service. The latter was visibly grateful that when they “didn’t really have time to mourn,” they were “still exercising their public responsibilities,” she told the BBC.
