Princess Kate I learned how to work with addicted prisoners in a British prison. The wife of the heir to the throne Prince William spoke to prisoners cared for by the Forward Trust on Tuesday at High Down Correctional Center in Sutton, south London.
The 41-year-old is the charity’s patron. The lower security category C prison houses a total of 1,100 men and young men.

Kate also accompanied a family to visit their imprisoned father. To do this, she first had to go through a security gate check. The visit signals an upcoming themed week on dependence and addiction. This year’s motto is “Everyone knows someone”. The goal is to highlight the wide range of people affected by addiction.
Kate visits the detention center just days after a terrorist suspect’s spectacular escape from London’s Wandsworth prison. The 21-year-old, who worked in the kitchen, tied himself under a food truck with strips of bedding. He was caught after four days. Many British prisons have been criticized for poor prison conditions. Overcrowding, poor hygiene and gang violence are part of everyday life.
