Priscilla Presley has revealed that her late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, was complaining of “really bad stomach pains” just days before her tragic death from a blocked bowel.
Lisa Marie died on January 12, 2023 at the age of 54 from a small bowel obstruction caused by previous weight-loss surgery – which found opioids in her blood at the time of her death.
Her last public appearance came on January 10 at the Golden Globe Awards – at which she caused concern – when Priscilla opened up about her final memories of her only daughter in an emotional interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
She said “I knew something was wrong” about the days before Lisa Marie’s death and recalled how the couple went to the Chateau Marmont to celebrate Austin Butler’s win for his role as a music icon in the film Elvis.
Priscilla said, “We just got there, you’re going down all those stairs.” I tripped a bit because I was wearing those heels and she started laughing so hard. I started laughing. We hadn’t even had anything to drink.

“She’s like, ‘Oh my god mom, you can’t even have a drink.’ … It was fun, a fond memory. Then we sat down and ordered drinks and she says, “Mom, my stomach really hurts.” We got up straight away and left.”
Two days later, Lisa Marie’s ex-husband Danny Keough called Priscilla to tell her the star had collapsed at home and was in the hospital — Priscilla said, “I got in the car right away, but she was already gone.” I can still don’t believe it. I wouldn’t wish that on any mother.”
Lisa Marie’s death sparked a dispute between her daughter Riley Keough, 34, and Priscilla over ownership of the property.
In a recently signed settlement, Priscilla agreed – in exchange for $1.4 million plus an undisclosed sum for ten years – to relinquish control of her late daughter’s Promenade Trust and to give Riley, the star of the TV series Daisy Jones and the Six” as sole trustee.
The settlement between Priscilla and Riley settled an alleged feud between the two that was sparked when Priscilla filed a legal challenge to her daughter’s will – which stripped Priscilla of control of her wealthy Promenade Trust – just two weeks after Lisa Marie’s death in January and had handed it over to Riley.
Riley is said to have been furious when her grandmother went to court to protest the will.
But in her request for sealing, Priscilla dismissed the idea of a feud and said she fired the attorneys who filed her request to contest the will.
“My January 2023 petition was misinterpreted in the press as a ‘fight’ for my beloved daughter’s trust,” she wrote. “It wasn’t the intention.” The petition was filed by a law firm that has since closed.
Supportive: Both Priscilla and Lisa Marie attended the 80th Golden Globes two days before their deaths to show their support for the acclaimed Elvis biopic (2022) – Priscilla said Lisa Marie said ‘my stomach really hurts’ , after having had something to drink the night

“I submitted the petition to dispel any potential uncertainties surrounding the interpretation of the Promenade Trust.”
“My daughter’s death was both devastating and heartbreaking.
“We’ve learned that fans recognize that we’re Just A Family. Elvis would be proud and his and Lisa’s wishes are the most important thing to all of us.
“My granddaughter has worked diligently and tirelessly with her own attorney along with my team to resolve all misunderstandings as a family.”
Riley also agreed to seal the private financial arrangement she made with her grandmother — which includes paying a certain amount (redacted in the court document) “per year for 10 years or for life” to Priscilla as the trust’s special counsel, plus $1 million and $300,000 to $400,000 in legal fees.
Their settlement also grants Priscilla’s wish to be buried at Graceland, Elvis’ home in Memphis, Tennessee.
In the interview, Priscilla denied that she and Riley ever got on badly, adding that it was the “right” decision for Riley to be the executor — and that the two had dinner together that night.
She said Riley “knows” she’s there to help and wants the help.
Priscilla conducted the interview alongside Sofia Coppola, who is directing the upcoming biopic Priscilla, based on the star’s biography Elvis And Me, which was originally released in 1985.
The film tells Priscilla’s side of the story of her life with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

The film, slated for release on October 23, stars Jacob Elordi as Elvis and Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla, with whom he began a romance when they were young. The film was shot in Toronto, Canada last year.
Elvis and Priscilla first met in Germany in 1959 when he was 24 years old and was serving in the army and she was just 14 years old.
After he returned to the US, they kept in touch via phone calls – before finally convincing her parents to let her move to Memphis, Tennessee full-time in 1963 to be with him.
Priscilla dated Elvis for eight years before they wed at a ceremony in Las Vegas in 1967. The couple had a daughter – Lisa Marie.
They divorced in 1973 over the Blue Suede shoe hitmaker’s infidelity – Elvis tragically died of a heart attack just four years later at the age of 42.
Last month, a report from the LA County Medical Examiner revealed that Lisa Marie died of complications (a condition resulting from a previous illness or injury) from an obstruction in the small intestine.
The intestinal obstruction took the form of a strangulated small intestine and was caused by adhesions that had developed after bariatric surgery (stomach clips) many years earlier.
Toxicology results also show that Lisa had “therapeutic” levels of oxycodone in her blood, while also finding a second opioid, buprenorphine, used to treat opioid addiction.
There were also traces of quetiapine, an antipsychotic, TMZ reported.

The coroner states that no “drug paraphernalia or narcotics” were found at her home and that her urine toxicology test was negative.
The report confirms that Lisa had cosmetic surgery and was prescribed opioids a few months before her death, with the star having a history of “over-medication” – he forgot she was taking her meds and then went back on them.
The reports also said the star had a “history of alcohol and drug abuse.”
Lisa Marie welcomed daughter Riley and son Benjamin with her ex-husband Danny Keough, to whom she was married from 1988 to 1994. Benjamin died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.
In 2008, she gave birth to twin daughters Harper and Finley with then-husband Michael Lockwood, but the couple divorced in 2016.
Lisa Marie’s life has been turbulent, with five stints in rehab for cocaine and opioid abuse, four failed marriages – including one to Michael Jackson – as well as the loss of her son to suicide and a bitter custody battle over her twin girls with her falsely accused ex-husband, having child pornography.
Sources told TMZ that Lisa Marie was found lifeless in her bedroom by her housekeeper and that her ex-husband, Danny Keough, who she was living with, was performing CPR until paramedics arrived.
Lisa Marie was trying to lose weight for Elvis Awards season and even took opioids in the weeks leading up to her death.
The star underwent plastic surgery two months before the Golden Globes and lost up to 50 pounds as part of a strict regimen.
Lisa Marie previously struggled with an opioid addiction after being put on a short-term prescription during her recovery from the birth of her twin daughters, Harper Vivienne and Finley, in 2008.
By 2013, she was a heavy cocaine user and went to rehab at least five times.

She was thought to have been sober for the past few years, but after the death of their son, her ex-husband Michael Lockwood said he feared she might relapse.
As a teenager, she rebelled against drugs between the ages of 13 and 17, but her mother took her to The Castle, a Scientology center in Hollywood, to get her off drugs.
“I’ve done everything but shrooms and heroin or crack,” she said.
“Cocaine, tranquilizers, marijuana and alcohol – all at the same time… I don’t know how I survived that.”
“One day I woke up with a lot of people on the floor. I drove to the Church of Scientology myself and said, “Someone… help me right away.”
It worked for a while, and Lisa Marie said she’s been drug free since she was 17.
