But the parents didn’t bring their little girl home until May because she was born 12 weeks early and had to spend her first 100-plus days in the neonatal intensive care unit.

The Jharkhand, India native admitted that motherhood was full of tense but rewarding moments.
But then there are times when just looking at her little girl’s behavior in her work could calm her down.
‘I’m looking [my daughter’s] smile and I say, ‘Okay, okay.’ So far I’m fine,” the former Quantico star said, before clarifying, “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, but it’s extremely scary.”
Now, after being a mother for more than a year and a half, Chopra has noticed some unexpected things about herself.
“It’s made me a little more sensitive and fragile, I think, and it makes me a little nervous.” “I didn’t expect that,” she shared her feelings and emotions.
Chopra and Jonas gave birth to their first child together via surrogate on January 15, 2022, but he spent the first three and a half months of her life in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“I don’t think it was our test. “I think it was her test,” Chopra said of Malti’s experience in the hospital. “I realized very, very early on that I didn’t have the luxury of being afraid or weak because she was afraid and weak.”
Since her maternal instincts were already in place, Chopra said she knew she had to be strong for her baby.
‘Overwhelmed’: Speaking to PEOPLE, Chopra admitted that she’s afraid of making mistakes as a parent and that motherhood gets overwhelming “every day.”

As the perfect gift for her mother, Malti made it home for the first time just before Mother’s Day last year.
Once they were able to bring their daughter home, Chopra quickly realized a whole new set of fears.
‘[In the NICU]You know your child is alive because you can see his or her heartbeat [on the monitor]. “I couldn’t sleep for days because she was suddenly at home without a monitor,” the Love Again actress explained.
All is revealed: “I behold.” [my daughter’s] smile and I’m like, ‘Okay, okay.’ I’m doing good so far,” the former Quantico star said when she was unsure about how she’s doing as a mother
Protective: Initially, the first-time parents did their best to keep their daughter out of the spotlight, but they have since revealed Malti’s face on social media
“I always put my ear to her chest. I woke up every few minutes just to make sure she was okay. This went on for weeks.’
At first, the first-time mothers tried to keep their daughter out of the spotlight so that she could regain her strength undisturbed.
However, Chopra and Jonas seem to be a little more relaxed lately and are now taking her to performances and showing her face a little more in social media posts.
Just last January, around her first birthday, Malti made her first public appearance with her parents when she attended the ceremony honoring the Jonas Brothers with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
