Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll had a very difficult weekend at the Qatar Grand Prix and his actions did not go unnoticed by the FIA.
The Quebecer has had better times. Not only did he pass out several times during the race due to the heat in his car, he also lost control of his emotions after another difficult qualifying session.
Stroll was filmed in the pits appearing to push one of his mechanics. Frustrated with his 17th place on the grid, he threw the steering wheel as he got out.
According to Athletic journalist Madeline Coleman, the FIA is in discussions with the 24-year-old driver as the incidents he was involved in “may have breached FIA rules, policies and procedures”.
Far behind his teammate Fernando Alonso, Stroll is having a frustrating season, even if he generally doesn’t let it show. He was eliminated in the first qualifying segment (Q1) four times in a row. In Singapore he did not take part in the race three weeks ago after badly damaging his car on Saturday.
The Formula 1 Championship continues on October 22nd with the presentation of the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
