Rachel McAdams has revealed the real reason she turned down the opportunity to star in the recent Mean Girls reunion commercial with her old co-stars.
Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert all came together for a Walmart ad last month to promote the major store chain's Black Friday sales.
But Rachel, who gave a stunning performance as reigning school bully Regina George in Mean Girls, was nowhere to be found.
Now, in a new interview with Variety, the 45-year-old has revealed her thoughts that led her to say no when she was offered the commercial.
'I don't know; “I guess if I'm being completely honest, I wasn't that excited about doing a commercial,” The Notebook star said.

“A movie sounded great, but I've never done commercials before and it just didn't feel like my style,” the “Doctor Strange” actress added.
“Besides… I didn’t know everyone did it. Of course, I would always love to be at a Mean Girls reunion and hang out with my plastic stuff, but yeah, I figured that out later,” Rachel told the magazine.
In the original 2004 film “Mean Girls,” “Plastic” was the nickname for Regina's popular clique, which the character Lindsay Lohan wants to infiltrate into.
Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for the film, then helped adapt it into a Broadway musical with tunes by her husband Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Neil Benjamin.
Now the stage show is being adapted into its own film, again with a script by Tina, which will be released in cinemas next month.
In addition to writing the script, Tina reprises her role as high school math teacher Ms. Norbury, which she originated in the 2004 film.
Rachel revealed in her new interview that she discussed the prospect of a cameo in the upcoming film, but the idea never came to fruition.
“Tina and I tried out a few ideas, but in the end it was difficult to get everything to work. I was really down for anything she wanted to do. “I think the direction it's going is going to be amazing and I can't wait to see it,” Rachel said graciously.

Rachel's most recent films include Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, based on the popular book of the same name by Judy Blume.
Abby Ryder Fortson plays the title role, while Rachel plays her mother in the cast that also includes Kathy Bates and Benny Safdie.
The film is set in the early 1970s, when the book first came out. In April, the film failed at the box office, although it was enthusiastically received by critics.
This year, Rachel also played a heightened version of herself on the FXX sitcom Dave with rapper and comedian Lil Dicky.
