Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh opened up about why she dreads New Year's Eve and feels a sense of foreboding at this time of year.
The 46-year-old presenter spoke during GMB on Friday about the devastating death of her father when she was just nine, which left her traumatized around New Year's.
Joining Richard Madeley on the program, they shared a video of Widow Ali, who volunteers with the charity Grief Encounter, which supports families after the loss of a loved one.
Ali lost her husband and was left as a single mother to her children, a situation that Ranvir could somewhat relate to.
After the clip, she confessed: “It really touches me because I wish Grief Encounter had existed for me when I was nine because my dad died when he was 42.”

“I actually had a very similar story to Ali and it makes me really grateful that Ali volunteers there with other families and that she was supported by Grief Encounter because I've never experienced anything like that.”
When her Richard asked if it was a sudden death, she explained: “He had a heart attack.” “He was 42 years old and I was nine years old.”
The star then revealed that it was only recently that she began to understand why she absolutely hated New Year's Eve and why she associated a sense of foreboding with it.
She continued: “Given that we're heading towards New Year's Eve, it wasn't until about four or five years ago that I understood why I've always hated New Year's Eve because my father died on January 21st, but I never understood, why I did that.” a feeling of foreboding about this “biggest night of the year.”
“Like I said, I much prefer lying in bed, but now I understand why I don't like this time of year – because something terrible was happening just around the corner and I've felt that every year since I was nine years old.” strange feeling of fear .'
“Did he die at home?” Richard asked, to which Ranvir replied, “No, no.” But I say it's fantastic what Grief Encounter is doing and it's a beautiful thing that Ali is doing.”
