Rapper Sean Combs, aka Diddy, is the target of a new civil sexual assault lawsuit, a week after this heavyweight of American hip-hop amicably settled a rape and physical violence case, the magazine reported Friday Rolling Stone.

In her subpoena filed in New York on Thursday, Joi Dickerson-Neal claims she was “drugged, sexually assaulted and abused” by the rapper then known as Puff Daddy in 1992, according to the American trade magazine.

She also asserts that he filmed the scene and broadcast the video as “revenge porn”, a practice aimed at showing the public sexual images, generally non-consensual, in order to take revenge on a person.

This proceeding was initiated under New York State law, which allows victims of sexual violence to file a civil lawsuit based on prescribed facts. This law came into force in November 2022 for a period of one year and expired on Friday.

This local law, called the Adult Survivors Act, has been used particularly against well-known personalities such as American actor Jamie Foxx, Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose and New York Mayor Eric Adams.

According to a document published by Rolling Stone, Joi Dickerson-Neal is demanding a jury trial and damages.

Another woman, who remained anonymous, accused Sean Combs and his collaborator Aaron Hall of raping her at a party in the 1990s, the magazine added.

Diddy and his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, R&B singer Cassie, reached an “amicable” settlement last week, a day after a civil lawsuit was filed against him alleging rape and physical abuse.

Former US President Donald Trump was also sued under New York law by author and former journalist E. Jean Carroll, who accused him of rape in a book.

In May, a New York civil court jury found the former leader guilty of “sexual assault” and ordered him to pay $5 million in damages.
