Rapper Yo Gotti's brother, Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, was one of two men shot dead near a restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday afternoon.

A number of publications, including TMZ and Fox 13, have confirmed that Mims was pronounced dead at the scene, just outside the Perignons Restaurant & Event Center.

The second victim was taken to nearby St. Francis Hospital by someone driving a private vehicle and was found to be in critical condition at last check.

Shots were first reported to police on Saturday, January 13, around 4:15 p.m.

TMZ reported that the shooting occurred shortly after Big Jook attended a memorial service in the area.

Rapper Yo Gotti's brother (pictured), Anthony Big Jook is believed to have worked on the business side of Gotti's record label Collective Music Group (CMG).

Police believe the two men were targeted in the shooting.

Investigators have combed through photos and videos circulating online that show Big Jook bleeding as he lies on the ground as people try to tend to his injuries.

At this point, it remains unclear whether Memphis resident Gotti (née Mario Sentell Giden Mims) was himself with his brother at the time of the shooting.

The “Doin 2 Much” rapper has not yet addressed his brother’s death.

The Memphis native, who was said to have a very close relationship with his famous brother, was a member of Gotti's record label Collective Music Group (CMG) and worked primarily in the business field, such as promoting artists.

The Collective Music Group, founded in 2012, has now signed successful acts such as Moneybagg Yo. 42 Dugg, Blac Youngsta, GloRilla, EST Gee and Mozzy.

Gotti first entered the hip hop scene when he released his debut album Youngsta's On A Come Up (1996) under the pseudonym Lil Yo.

He then released ten more studio albums, most recently CM10: Free Game (2022).

Some people have revealed online that they believe the shooting of Mims may be related to the murder of Young Dolph (née Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.) in November 2021.

The rapper, then 36, was fatally shot in Memphis while visiting Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies, a bakery he frequently visited when he was home.

That shooting and Saturday's murder that killed Mims both occurred not far from Gotti's restaurant.

At last check, investigators had not released information about any suspects in connection with the case.
