The actress Rebecca Jones, the protagonist of the great Mexican television melodramas of the 1980s, died this Wednesday at the age of 65, according to the interpreter’s communications team. Rebecca Jones Fuentes Berain, the artist’s first name, finished a few months ago the television series Cabo, which premiered on October 24th on Televisa and in which she is one of the protagonists.

In 2019, Jones reported that her cancer had receded, but in 2022 it was revealed that she was hospitalized after the disease recurred. Shortly after, he was spotted at a few public events, highlighting his fragile face and his showmates’ comments about his decline.

Jones began her career in the 1980s melodrama Girl from the Block, where she made a brief appearance. In 1982 he was part of the cast of the telenovela El amor nunca muere and since then he has been part of the star cast of the great soap operas of the time such as Maleficio, La Traición, Cuna de lobos and Imperio de Cristal.

“I’ve never been fooled,” the actress recalled in an interview with the channel Tlnovelas, dedicated to the country’s soap operas. His ex-partner, also actor Alejandro Camacho, expressed his regret at the death of the actress, with whom he had a son.

Jones was born on May 21, 1957 in Mexico City. Born to an American father and Mexican mother, she grew up in Mexico and grew up in the United States. There he studied acting at Orange Coast College.
