Recife takes second place in the Decolar ranking, which highlights the most popular destinations of foreign travelers in Brazil for the January 2024 holidays.

According to the travel company, the study was conducted based on foreigners searching for air tickets to travel to Brazil.

The capital Pernambuco is only behind São Paulo, which topped the rankings.

The largest international issuers after Brazil this month are Buenos Aires, Santiago, Córdoba, Montevideo and Lisbon.

“We have observed a growing interest from foreigners in our country, which shows travelers' confidence in exploring the wonders of Brazil among destinations rich in culture, history and natural beauty. Other reasons for this growth include the increased availability of routes and the appreciation of the real against other currencies such as the peso,” says Bob Rossato, vice president of Airline Products at Decolar.
