The project will be carried out in the central district of Hoan Kiem and aims to become a place with gardens and spaces linked to Hanoi’s history, culture, customs and traditions, as well as entertainment and fishing, swimming, diving and river facilities Tourism.
According to Hoan Kiem People’s Committee Chairman Pham Tuan Long, this district is heavily polluted and therefore needs more green space and parks.
We hope experts, scientists and authorities can come together to develop the project, stressed Tuang Long, who said in statements reinforced by the VNA news agency that local authorities plan to build green parks along the banks of the Red River, in where there are large stocks of trees are preserved.
In these new spaces there will also be functional areas where the close neighbors can plant their own short-lived trees, ornamental plants and seasonal flowers, all combined with the provision of tourist services.
Recently, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the feasibility study for a project to construct a pedestrian walkway-connected tunnel through the Red River Dam and Tran Quang Khai Street in the same district, the total investment of which is estimated at more than four million dollars.
The underground passage will be 3.2 meters high and 15.7 meters long; Its width is 18.25 m, with two lanes for vehicles and the same number for pedestrians.
The two tunnel entrances are designed to open and close automatically to provide flood drainage during the rainy season.
