Both police and the Crown declined to provide further information about the circumstances surrounding the event.
On Nov. 2, the former pugilist finally appeared on summary conviction, which generally means the seriousness of the offense is lessened. He therefore remains at large pending trial.
The man whose father was killed in a shooting spree in the Montreal area in 2022 has pleaded not guilty. His case will go back to court next February.
Domestic violence
David Lemieux has had trouble with the law in the past due to allegations of domestic violence.
In June 2014, police intervened at a residence in Laval regarding an argument between Lemieux and his ex-partner.
In particular, he was accused of damaging an iPhone and a vehicle rearview mirror, and of physically attacking the 25-year-old young woman and a man who was observing the crime scene, the act of denunciation indicated.
The charges were withdrawn in April 2015 because prosecutors were unable to provide evidence and David Lemieux was acquitted.
However, in accordance with Section 810 of the Criminal Code, he had to sign an undertaking not to disturb public order. Lemieux therefore admitted in court that his ex had reason to fear for his safety.
Criminal fire
This return to justice comes just months after David Lemieux’s black Mercedes-Benz was targeted in an arson attack.
Authorities were alerted to a burning vehicle on Rue des Alismas in the Sainte-Dorothée district of Laval on July 15.

The crime caused an uproar among some of the former world champion’s neighbors, even though they were used to calm.
As of Monday, it was unclear whether an arrest had been made in the case.
