Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested Saturday in King County, Washington, on suspicion of drunken driving, the Washington State Patrol confirmed to .
Sherman was stopped around 2 a.m. local time in Bellevue by the Washington State Patrol for speeding 79 mph within a 60 mph zone, according to a first appearance document from a district court judge giving probable cause Investigated drunk driving.
When asked if he had been drinking alcohol, Sherman told authorities he had two margaritas, the document says, and he also agreed to a voluntary test.
The document also states that Sherman's eyes were bloodshot and watery and that there was an “odor of intoxicants.”
Sherman was arrested and booked into the King County Correctional Facility.
On Saturday, a King County District Court judge found probable cause for drunken driving, and a court hearing to determine release conditions is expected to take place on Monday, according to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
The King County District Attorney's Office could not confirm whether Sherman has retained an attorney, and has attempted to contact his representatives.
According to the King County Prosecutor's Office, no bond has been set for Sherman because the court did not consider the conditions of release.
