Singer Ricky Martin urged his followers to help communities suffering the devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico.
Through his social networks, the artist called on the public to donate as much as possible to meet the needs created by the passing of the phenomenon that has left a historic amount of rain on the island, especially in the south, west and in the middle of the country.
“My people, here we are. Once again we are in the midst of a tragedy. This week Hurricane Fiona devastated our Puerto Rico. Families and communities still traumatized by Maria, the earthquakes and the pandemic have been devastated again,” he said.

“Across the island, streets and houses are completely flooded. Hundreds of thousands of people remain without electricity or water, and unfortunately there is no light at the end of the tunnel. We need your help,” he added.
In addition, the Puerto Rican star announced that permanent teams from his organization, along with facilities such as SER de Puerto Rico and Waves Ahead, will provide essential supplies such as food, water, medical, mental health services equipment, alongside World Central Kitchen and other community-based organizations other essential resources, for the populations they will affect.
“Gentlemen, our spirit is not broken by anyone or anything. We stand up, and when we stand up, we do it with more strength and with more courage,” he said.
“So please, let’s be united,” he said.
