The Jets went into the rematch with the Patriots Sunday as one of the NFL’s 10 worst offenses, but even they couldn’t match their low New England standards. With just 103 total yards, six first downs and a lone three-point scoring drive, New York fell to 6-4 thanks to their 10-3 loss in Week 11. After that, asked about quarterback Zach Wilson’s ineptitude and offense, To capitalize on a “superb” effort from the defence, coach Robert Saleh was profanely blunt: “It was dog shit,” he told reporters.

Wilson, in particular, has had one of his least productive games of the season, which is saying something considering the 2021 first-round pick started Sunday as one of the NFL’s least efficient starters. The QB went just 9 of 22 for 75 yards, averaging 3.5 yards per attempt, with zero touchdowns and a near-interception on an important third down. The Jets eventually finished with more punts (10) than Wilson had completed passes, and the signal caller has now thrown just four TDs and five picks in seven games.

However, Wilson didn’t seem nearly as concerned about the Jets’ offensive ineptitude after Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. When asked if he felt he was letting New York’s defense down after that unit only conceded three points (New England’s only TD came on special teams), Wilson answered quickly and dismissive to reporters, shaking his head, “No. No.”

Rookie receiver Garrett Wilson offered his own take that seemed to agree with his head coach.

“This shit ain’t ok. Straight ahead, it ain’t ok. How many total yards did we have (103)? This shit ain’t gonna fly. We got the boys. It’s time to be consistent. It’s time the to win games we should be winning.”

The Jets will get their chance to do so in Week 12 against the Bears (3-8), who lost to the Falcons on Sunday.
